Hello friend.
Unfortunately, after several tests I did, the only alternative I found was to delete the aforementioned folders and reinstall, thus correcting the permissions.
Here is a link where my suggestion was accepted as a solution.

Hey matiascorea, I'd be happy to help!
Do you also get the same start-up error as the OP mentioned above? If not, feel free to attach the error on your next reply.
Keep me posted!

No. The DropboxInstaller.dmg will not run. Click on it and nothing happens.

I found a workaround for the issue I was having with dropbox installer: I had to explicitly tell my Mac to open the installer with DiskImageMounter.app by right-clicking on the .dmg file. Normally, just double-clicking on a .dmg file will mount the installer's disk image. However, for some reason Dropbox's installer isn't automatically recognized as a disk image to be mounted.
After doing that, I installed it and Dropbox works.

I am having the same issue, can someone just leave instructions on what to do!

I have the same issue. My files won't sync and I don't have an easy way either to get to the file online. Nothing seem like before.
Thank in advance.

Hey janieva, thanks for the nudge here and sorry to see you're having trouble.
Are you also getting a 'couldn't start Dropbox' error message?
If so, can you click on the blue hyperlink on the error, to see the full error log and send us a screenshot?
Also, you mentioned that you're having trouble getting to your files online, are you referring to our website?
Are you having an issue there as well? Any additional info would be really helpful.
Thanks.

Could you let me know more about this? What happens when you try to open Dropbox?

- simonlloyd2 years agoExplorer | Level 3Hi
Nothing I save on my Dropbox account on my laptop gets updated on the main Dropbox folder or any of my other devices. I can no longer access Dropbox through the Dropbox icon. I have to go via Finder. Is there a way round this? I can’t continue working with Dropbox if this is how it is going to be going forward. Thanks
