Space not freed up
I removed one laptop from my paid Dropbox account a week ago but there has been no change in storage space. I have very little on this laptop so am confused as to why storage space hasn’t been increased.
OK, I think I figured it out. I had unlinked the laptop from my Dropbox account under Devices in Security, but I did not delete the Dropbox "program" from this laptop. I have done that now. I then located my Dropbox folder by going to File Explorer under my C drive (Users, etc) and dragged the folder to My Recycle Box. It is now deleted all of that from just this computer (it is taking a while!). I will then empty the Recycle Box and hope that gives me storage back.
I assume if I want to I can relink this laptop to Dropbox and then make the Dropbox material accessible online-only. But for now, I just will reclaim the storage and finish a project I was working on.
Thank you!

Hi NewTrails, thanks for reaching out!
Just to confirm, by removing your laptop, do you mean you uninstalled the Dropbox app or unlinked it?
In either case, did you also delete the Dropbox folder after that? If not, please feel free to do so and let me know if anything changes!
I will be standing by!
- NewTrailsHelpful | Level 6I unlinked it - I think - I deleted the laptop but it’s name in my Dropbox account. But I didn’t delete the folder. I didn’t see that in any instructions about reclaiming space, but maybe I missed it.
I will try that later this morning. But I also thought I should be able to access the only online folders still. Don’t I need the Dropbox folder for that?
What I want is to have this laptop only access Dropbox material online so that I have storage space.
What exactly do I need for that?!
