OK, I think I figured it out. I had unlinked the laptop from my Dropbox account under Devices in Security, but I did not delete the Dropbox "program" from this laptop. I have done that now. I then located my Dropbox folder by going to File Explorer under my C drive (Users, etc) and dragged the folder to My Recycle Box. It is now deleted all of that from just this computer (it is taking a while!). I will then empty the Recycle Box and hope that gives me storage back.
I assume if I want to I can relink this laptop to Dropbox and then make the Dropbox material accessible online-only. But for now, I just will reclaim the storage and finish a project I was working on.
Thank you!

Hi NewTrails, thanks for reaching out!
Just to confirm, by removing your laptop, do you mean you uninstalled the Dropbox app or unlinked it?
In either case, did you also delete the Dropbox folder after that? If not, please feel free to do so and let me know if anything changes!
I will be standing by!
