I could really do with removing myself from the folders in my dropbox, i tried this a while back and deleted everyones folders, the client went mad with me. Can I remove myself and get the space back without deleting everything from the shared folders, I'm guessing I had full access which I'm sure I shouldn't have?

Hi @stevesl100 , I am glad to hear you have found a solution to free up space on your Dropbox account.
I’m a Community Manager here at Dropbox, and I’d love to learn more about how you're using Dropbox, if you are open to sharing? You never know, we might have some cool tips to share with you or even ideas you may have to pass along to our internal team 😊.T 😺 (Dropbox Community Manager)

Hi. I've been having this problem for a few years now. every few years i'll try to remove folders that are shared with me but i always fail. When i try to select 'manage permissions' of the folders that are shared with me and using up my space i just get a message saying "You don’t have permission to manage membership of this folder". The owners of the shared folder are useless at IT, none of them seem to know who their own admin is so none of them know who has permission to manage membership and how to unshare folders.
every few years i try to sort this, like recently when i again ran out of space. One of my work colleagues has a folder that has 1.6GB. But i can't stop this folder sharing with me, i can't unshare it with me. it's madness. i'll have to anadon my own dropbox account because other folders that aren't mine are using up all my space and i don't have any ability to block them. Gdrive from now on i think.
