Files uploaded to a shared folder come with a red circle and an X on them. Why?
I just uploaded a bunch of PDFs to a shared dropbox folder and instead of the green circle with checkmark to the right, they're accompanied by a red circle with an X. Does anyone know what this means?
Found the problem. The author of these files used a\in their name. Replacing the backslash with a hyphen replace's the error flag with an up-to-date flag and they now appear at/home.
Thanks for your help Mark!

Mouse over the Dropbox icon on the status bar (usually near the clock) to see what the error is- ctctcHelpful | Level 6
Thx Mark. When I mouse over the dropbox icon on the status bar a pop-up message appears stating "Drop box 54.4.90 up to date"
- MarkSuper User IIAre the files open at present? If so they wont be able to sync.
If not try closing and reopening the folders - I sometimes find things get mixed up.
Can you see those files online at www.dropbox.com/home ?
