Oh, I see now. So your shared links were banned and that's why you couldn't generate a shared link through the desktop app as well NOCU - this makes sense now.
In any case, I'm glad to hear it's sorted now and thank you for your feedback as well.
Let me know if you have anything else to ask or add.

Hey NOCU, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please let me know if this happens with a specific file or if it's affecting all of the files you've stored in your Dropbox folder?
What's the desktop app's status and version as shown in your menu bar?
Any additional information is more than welcome!

HI Walter,
Thanks for getting back with me!
In the meantime i opened chat support + continued via mail.
To answer your questions:
It affects everything i got on DropBox.
the status is: Idle
- 3,1 TB used out of 4 TB
- no notifications, alerts, sync problems
- everything is synced / nothing pending
- Dropbox version V158.3.4525

Thanks for the additional information NOCU - much appreciated!
It seems that you're running a beta version of the desktop app.
If it's not too much of a hassle could you try installing the latest, stable version from this page and let us know if this persists?
Just make sure to toggle off the 'early releases' from your account's settings online first.
You can also let us know your ticket's ID in order to look it up in our system.

Thanks for thinking with me Walter!
The issue is solved in the meantime.
It seemed that i've been exceeded the traffic bandwidth limit of 400GB for a day.
Sounds a bit much to me. But well, i have no other idea why i was blocked from sharing links that got lifted exact 24 hours later.
The thing i'm probably most annoyed about, is that i didn't get any notification of this when it happened and was completely left in the dark about it all.
no email, no notification bell or pop up in the Dropbox App etc, nothing. Pretty blunt to do to a customer if you'd ask me.
I get the limit now. But if this can happen, it really would make sense to have some sort of indication that the bandwidth is about to exceed. So you can act on it before it happens. Because now, i wasn't able to meet a couple of deadlines. As you don't easily find a solution for a file-review action by just sharing a link after the render is done and then normally shoot on to the next project. You're just kicked out of your flow for 24 hours.
