After the 6/25/24 update, my Dropbox files aren't syncing and Adobe Acrobat keeps crashing.
AFter update 6/25/24, dropbox stopped syncing and I get gray X on my files rather than the usual sync icons. Also does not communicate with Adobe Acrobat as dropbox options do not appear when right ...

Thanks for posting this here, PJS2.
When saying you’re seeing a grey X icon, you mean this one, correct?
If you look at your system tray (where your clock settings are), is there a small Dropbox icon showing at the moment?
Was the issue resolved when you reverted back to the previous app version?
Let me know when you have more info.

The gray X is seen on my pdfs rather than the green local icon or the online icon. With the gray X I am unable to open or do anything with the documents.
When I reverted to the former version and disabled the automatic updates it works fine. We first had problems when we installed the former version because DB quickly updated it. Then we determined we had to disable the updater and some other things my IT person determined.
I'm surprised there aren't more complaints about this update.

I see, thanks for providing more info. If you look at your system tray now, can you let me know what’s the syncing status the Dropbox app reports?

It is synced now but I am using the version prior to the update last week.

I was on a dropbox chat on Thursday 6/26 for nearly 2 hours with no resolution. I received a ticket which told me the following but my IT person said this is only to resolve icons not appearing and not the problem I am having:
In order to resolve the issue, please follow the correct path:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” > “SOFTWARE” > “Microsoft” > “Windows” > “CurrentVersion” > “Explorer” > “ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers”.
Once you do so, rename (right-click and click Rename) the files, so that the Dropbox files appear in the first 15 files in the list. You can do this by putting spaces in front of those file names, so that they move higher up in the list.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue.
Looking forward to your reply.
