Error that won't let me update the app, and can't move files on Windows.

I ran into this issue a couple days ago, and Ive also read in some of the other threads on the site. However  I noticed that on one of my other laptops I have, Has an error that wont let me update Dropbox, so its currently stuck on version v209.4.3661. On that laptop I can still move files in and out of Dropbox folders like normal. But on all of my other computers with v213.4.4597, Dropbox defaults to copying files rather than moving them. All of these computers have Windows 10 and are updated. Did something happen between those versions of Dropbox? Is there a way to revert back to v209 to get the moving functionality back?

This is a change implemented by Microsoft, where dragging files out of a root sync folder now results in a copy instead of a move. Hold the Shift key when dragging files to force a move.

Hm you think so? Even though whatever change is on my two systems and I still have file dragging functionality on the system with the older version of Dropbox?

What error are you getting on that computer, pizzaenjoyer, that's not allowing you to update the Dropbox app?

Can you give us some more info and/or a screenshot of the error, so we can take a look?

Sorry I may not be communicating well. Im not sure what the error is but the point I was trying to state was that i have two identical laptops which are both updated to the most recent version of Windows 10. The only difference between the two computers is the version of dropbox. The laptop with v209 has old drag and drop functionality. Is there something that changed between v209 and v213 that could be causing a problem with the drag and drop functionality? Or alternatively is there a way to roll back my version of dropbox to v209 ?

Thanks for getting back to us, pizzaenjoyer.

Does this happen when you move files out of the Dropbox folder, or when you drag & drop files within the Dropbox folder itself as well?

If you close the Dropbox application, do you get the same behavior with the app closed?
