Shared files listing order

My ascending order files in my folder are randomly appearing in the shared folder in a numerical sequence based on the first digit, e.g., 1, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 20, 21, 22,... 3, 30 31, etc. They are set up to appear in ascending numerical order yet, every now and then, they present in the other numerical order. I cannot find anything to permanently set the order of appearance. They always present in the desired ascending numerical order in my Dropbox account folder. Any suggestions?

Hey EMSHP, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Could you please send us a screenshot so that we can have a visual too?

Also, since this is only happening on this shared folder of yours, could it be that you or another member of the share set an automation or a naming convention on the folder?

Any additional information you can share is more than welcome!

      Here are two screenshots.

      Files should appear as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

      Files appear as 0, 1, 10, 11 etc, and then 2, 20 21, 23 etc.

In my folder always appears correctly. Problem only appears in shared folder.

Problem is intermittent in shared folder.

      Thanks for the help.

Hi EMSHP, thanks for the info. In general, the order would be in numerical order, so 1, followed by 11, 12 and so on. However, certain OSes choose to show files as 1, 2, 3 and so on.

If you want the files to appear in a standard order for all systems, it would be best to have a leading zero, such as 01, 02, etc. This would ensure that the file appears in the correct order.
