What does the brown box icon next to my files mean?

I have searched the relevant help topics without finding an explanation on the "brown box" icon that appears on files in my Dropbox folder. See the attached file "Dropbox_Meaning of Icon_BrownBox.pdf" (below).

  • Well, based on my information, this does not appear to be a standard Dropbox icon. The brown icon might represent a special file type, which typically require specific software to open. Dropbox or your file viewer may flag these files differently because they are not standard image formats.

May I ask you have any photo editing software integrated with Dropbox, such as Adobe Lightroom or Nikon NX Studio? The brown icon might indicate that these files are linked to or processed by such software.

  • Hey Jonas-78, thanks for posting to our Community!

This should be a OneDrive icon, so I'd also look into that if I were you.
