Backup Filled Up All Space - How to Delete It?
I accidentally tried to backup a large file and filled up all my available space on Dropbox. I searched the FAQs and ended up downloading the Desktop App which was supposed to allow me to delete the backup. It let me stop the backup, but did not free up the space taken up on Dropbox by the unintended backup. I keep getting the message that all my available space is used up and I need to upgrade. I can see that over 95% of my space on Dropbox is used by that backup. How do I reclaim the space used by the Backup? I've been searching and reading and have found nothing to help. I'd appreciate helpful directions.
Hi ALynnM, let's jump right into this!
It sounds like you accidentally enabled our Backup feature, and now you need to delete it, in order to free up space in your Dropbox account.
You mentioned that you were able to disable the feature, right? If you need to confirm, you can check more when visiting this page.
Provided that Backup is disabled, you could then delete the content that you don't need off of your Dropbox account. Can you give it a go?
I hope this helps!
