Choosing File/Folder In Browser Has Changed

This was corrected on the server side. If you are having this issue, you need request a ticket to be put in. It can not be fixed on the user side.

Hello, this week I have noticed that when using Dropbox in my web browser, clicking on the names of files or folders no longer automatically opens them. Instead I have to right click and select 'Open in...' and, for example, have every folder I want to access open in a new tab. Was there a change in the program to make this standard? Is there any way I can adjust my settings to not have to go through this extra step? Thanks.

Hi zp8822, thanks for messaging the Community.
There hasn't been any change to the site to my knowledge.
Are you clicking the filename itself, or the blank space next to the file?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay, I'm clicking on the folder name or file name itself- previously this worked like a hyperlink and just opened whatever I was clicking on. Now the only thing clicking there does is activate the check box to the left (I am not clicking the check box or wanting to).

Hey zp8822, sorry to jump in, but could you clear your browser's cache or try another browser and let us know if this persists?
I'm just asking because I just gave this a go and I was able to open all of my files on the website by double clicking on them.

We've already discussed this in the thread. Recommend going back and reviewing. But in short...within Chrome, deleting history, going incognito, logging in a different computer and even a different browser (MS Edge) comes up with the same issue. Though, if I have someone else log in the same computer/browser who also has a Dropbox account...back to 'normal'. The issue follows the user, not the browser and not the computer. I feel like we are just spinning our wheels when the same questions are asked over and over. It's an interesting issue that is documented in the video, though I'm coming to the realization there is no fix. The 'glitch' is on the server end. But if you truly have a fix and it's not a silly one like, have you turned your computer on and off...I'm all ears. But I don't think there is a fix on the user end.
