Dropbox StaffYes, API v1 is still planned for retirement on June 28 2017. I can't make any promises, but I'll send this along as a request to extend that timeline.
We're aware of the issue in the Objective-C SDK you linked to. We will be releasing a fix, but in the meantime you can use version 2.0.5 of the SDK (instead of 2.0.6) as a workaround.
