Hi everyone, I could use some help on this Dropbox pushed out an update to our user environment and it broke our integration and we are slowly starting to fix it. I have a user that has a file that will not sync. When i click the option to see what file is not syncing, it is blank. I cannot locate this file anywhere. I stopped the sync for an hour to let indexing catch up and restarted the sync. No luck We also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox (completely removing the folders and profile from before) ran chkdsk Signed out, rebooted and signed back in verified there is no firewall or antivirus restrictions Stopped and restarted the dropbox services we are on version 199.4.62871.4KViews1like8CommentsHow can I make my password-saving app save its database to Dropbox and sync it to other devices?
I have a password program on my pc that saves the data base file to Documents\My Safes when it closes. Do I have to direct the program to save to the DBox folder instead of the...\My Safes folder if I wish to have the file automatically synced with Drop Box each time it is updated? Secondly, is it possible to have the file that is on DBox sync to the one on the PC if I change the Dbox file from my phone?61Views0likes4CommentsWhy was the way screenshots were handled changed?
Me and my friends question what drove the people behind this software to break something intentionally like that? I work as a Quality Assurance expert, and can only see this change as sabotage. When I press "PrtSc" I want the image to be copied into my clipboard. The fact that it was saved into the screenshots folder wasn't always desired, but I could deal with it (always cleaned up that folder once a month). But now that doesn't happen. I get so many extra steps, and if I opt out of it, I'm left with nothing. Sure, I could just install a different software for making screenshots, but that seems so stupid to do, given what worked before!69Views1like6CommentsSupport online-only files for ARM (Snapdragon) processors
We are currently unable to use Dropbox on Windows Surface Pro Devices with Snapdragon Processors as they do not allow for Online-Only files. This causes the entirety of their files to sync to the device and renders the device unusable as all disk space is consumed.42Views2likes2CommentsSaving screenshots to Dropbox: Option to not copy to clipboard
I love the option to save screenshots into Dropbox. Unfortunately if you enable it, you have to choose between: copy link copy image within the "When screenshot is ready" dropdown. On too many occasions this has overwritten something I had only recently copied to the clipboard. When I go to paste it, I instead find that it's been replaced by the link to the image, or the image itself. I still want to save my screenshots into Dropbox, but I'd love a 3rd option within "When screenshot is ready" dropdown: Don't copy anything to clipboard I'd imagine this is very simple to implement, so thought I'd ask :)20Views0likes2CommentsIssues with uploading and syncing large HD videos to Dropbox
Hey everyone, I've been running into some frustrating issues when trying to upload large HD videos to Dropbox, and I was hoping to get some insight or possible solutions. Here's what's happening: Extremely Slow Uploads – Even with a stable, high-speed internet connection, large files (a few GBs) take way longer than expected. Failed Uploads – Sometimes, the upload just stops midway, and I have to start all over again. No error message, just a failed attempt. Sync Issues – When using the Dropbox desktop app, the sync randomly pauses or stops entirely for no clear reason. What I’ve tried so far: Made sure my Dropbox app and browser are fully updated. Checked that I have enough available storage in my account. Ensured my internet connection is solid and isn’t being overused during uploads. Despite all this, the problem keeps happening. Would splitting the files or compressing them help? Are there any settings I should tweak for better performance? How to disable annoying "Upload Complete" pop-up
I have multiple Dropbox accounts for several different clients, and as such, I must use the Dropbox website for uploading and downloading files I share for one of my clients. When I want to add my files to a Dropbox folder via the website, I always get a pop-up box with a confirmation that my upload has completed. This pop-up box is very annoying. It takes up a lot of space in the lower left corner of my screen, and the only way to get rid of it is to close it by clicking the "X." I upload files all day long and this confirmation pops up every single time. This requires a lot of extra clicking so that I can uncover and see pertinent information on my screen. Question - is there any way to disable this notification, or at the very least change it so that it pops up but disappears on its own after a second or two?742Views2likes4CommentsHow do I share or link files between two Windows computers?
I have two desktop computers: 1) 500GB Windows 11 SSD w/ 12% storage remaining, and 2) 1TB Windows 10 SSD w/ 33% storage remaining. Two years ago I disabled Dropbox from the 500GB computer after a first attempt to use Dropbox: it duplicated my files and threw them back onto the hard drive, leaving me with just 7GB on it (somehow I was able to get 50GB back, can't remember how). This year I decided to give Dropbox another try, I read and read and read every Dropbox instructions I could, set my 1TB computer to Cloud Only, and am OK with that machine. Now if I re-enable Dropbox on my 500GB computer, setting it to Cloud Only, can I be confident files won't be plugging up the hard drive again? And assuming I can share/link files between the two computers, how do I do that? And are there dangers of plugging things up again if I do?Solved70Views0likes5CommentsGive us an option to not sync hidden files.
Allow the user to set an option to NOT sync files with hidden attribute. Some applications create lots of hidden files to handle internal processes. These files are important for the current operation of an application, but not for the user via Dropbox. A less useful option would be to allow the user to specify a blacklist of filenames or folder names to not sync. *.tmp or .profile45Views1like3Comments
