Right now there doesn't seem to be a way to mute the video player without turning off the volume of the device in the mobile app. I often want to look at some video files (that don't actually have any audio) while listening to some music. But the app essentially forces me to pause my music so that the video can play in the app. A mute function shouldn't be too difficult to implement and would improve quality of life.13Views0likes1CommentNot getting notifications on Android when a file is uploaded.
I'm using the free version of dropbox. I have the desktop app and android apps downloaded. I have a .txt file in a dropbox folder I created. I shared the folder and I'm following that folder. Per this https://help.dropbox.com/organize/follow-folder When I put a new version of that .txt (always same filename) file in the dropbox folder I want to receive a notification on my phone that a file was uploaded. All notifications are turned on to my knowledge. What do I need to do to get a notification on my android phone when that .txt file is uploaded on my PC thru the dropbox desktop app?654Views1like4CommentsUnable to download files to my phone after adding them to the Dropbox folder on my computer
I have the DropBox on my PC through File Explorer and in the past I would copy MP4/MP3 files to the DropBox folder on my PC. I would then use the VLC app on my iPhone to download the files to my iPhone. Now when I click on the download icon in the VLC app it will no longer download the file. Is there a setting in DropBox that has changed? I now see there is a Vault, but I do not understand why the DropBox folder on my pc to be affected but this change. Curious if you have any suggestions. I have contacted VLC but they are pointing to DropBox as the issue. Kenn52Views0likes7CommentsDropbox iOS problem: Unable to share more than 3 files at once.
After my Dropbox app was automatically updated recently (version 414.3), I can no longer send more than four files at once through another app. When I select four or fewer files, it works fine, but selecting more than four prevents me from tapping the send button. My friends who also use iPhones are experiencing the same issue, but Android devices don’t seem to have this problem. (I'm using an iPhone 16 Pro.) Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery. I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this. I have already: -re-installed the app -deleted the cache memory -deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder -restarted the device -even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it Still, Dropbox will only upload new files. I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything. I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set toSolved7.2KViews1like91CommentsDropbox Passwords doesn't sync logins between devices?
I use Dropbox Passwords on 4 devices. My iPhone and my 'old' Macbook Pro, where everything syncs and works, and my iPad and my new Macbook Pro, where nothing is synced. Both just show me the 'Start adding accounts' screen. I've been through a looong list of measures with chat support, but nothing has solved this so far. Has anybody else experienced something similar? And maybe even found a potential solution?3KViews2likes21CommentsI can preview offline files on my Android device, but I can't open them with Microsoft.
Hello, I was on holiday and wanted to open a file I had successfully synced to be offline. However, when I tried to open the off-line file I received a message: "you can view this file offline, but you'll need an internet connection to edit it. Check your connection and try again OK" However, it doesn't even let me 'view' the file. Android v10 Galaxy Note9 App version: 414.2.2 I saw this discussion/Thread - but it didn't seem to have a resolution: https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001012/offline-mode-not-working-on-android/756275 and the thread is closed - so I can't add my comments there. Did you find a resolution to this issue?80Views0likes16CommentsCan we have a folder/list of links to our Dropbox files on Android?
It would be quite useful to be able to compile a folder or a document with a list of links to Dropbox files that are made available locally. Imagine a speech that needs a set of texts or images to be opened in sequence. Or a performance in which it is necessary to compile a list of scores that need to be accessed quickly without browsing. The interest in just links, and not copies, is to access the latest versions adjourned in Dropbox from any of the connected devices. This is clearly possible in Windows where a folder or a .docx document can be compiled with links to Dropbox files made available locally. In Android unfortunately this is not possible. Someone suggests to make copies of the files into the local space (not Dropbox) and link to that. But this would not allow the great feature of dynamic update on Dropbox files. I have tried on my tablet to compile a file with links, but when I browse to get the link to a Dropbox file, I go nowhere. I have enquired the Dropbox assistance team and they told me that this feature is not available in Android. I think that this would be a great addition. If anyone in the community has a suggestion I would much appreciate it. Best to all. PS: In serching for a solution someone suggests to insert a path like this to locally available cash: Andoid/data/com.dropbox.android/files/USERHASH/scratch/folder/file.tx but I do not have the USERHASH and the path may be wrong.30Views1like1Comment
