I have read the earlier discussions on getting DropBox into Finder and the bottom Menu but unfortunately they are not working on my new MacBookPro (which is a very basic model). It is using Sonoma 14.7.1. I need to constantly access my DropBox files from wherever I am working, but am unable to dop so. This is a huge hindrance to my work on a daily basis. Desperate for advice please.7Views0likes1CommentI can't make files online-only on my Windows machine
Earlier I could make folders and documents "only available online" from the filemanager on my PC by right-click. Now my PC is full and I want to reinnstall in, but I don't manage to make my dropbox folders only available online. This description help.dropbox.com/nb-no/sync/make-files-online-only tells me that that is still possible, but the opsion is not available on my PC any more. If I delete the files, I'll also delete them online. What to do? I have a family account.8Views0likes3CommentsIdea: Enable Post-Quantum Cryptography

I'm totally baffled! I appear to be paying for a service I'm not receiving. I joined Dropbox over a year ago, but realised only recently that nothing was being backed-up. My son, who is far more tech savvy than I am, thought he'd got it sorted. I could find my files in Backup - but they'd disappeared from my computer. Why? It's a Back-up, not a wipe clean! So over the holiday we tried again, as none of the recent files were backed-up. This time the files and folders which I'd had to recreate were Backed-up and remained on my computer BUT all the previously backed-up files and folders had disappeared from the Back-up - and this included 10 years work in my Family History Files. Where are they? They weren't even in the deleted folder! I'm now in a worse mess than if I'd never joined. What is going on? The program is far from intuitive, and is causing me a lot of aggravation.40Views0likes3CommentsUnable to claim promotion on my new HP OMEN computer
I got a brand new OMEN PC for Christmas and at first, there was Dropbox promo available in task bar (Win 11), but after installing the app from website the promo disappeared. It was supposed to be 25 GB for 12 months. I tried clean install but the pinned promo never showed up.35Views0likes6Comments"Make available offline" option is not working on folder level on Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1
Hi, On macOS Sequoia 15.1.1, the following menu on folder : "make available offline" (my translation from french) is not working. I would have to select it on each file to get it available offline. Do you experience the same issue ?60Views0likes9CommentsSyncing to all devices including external SSD connected to the PC
I have a Dropbox subscription. My devices are synced (phone and PC). I bought a Sandisk Extreme Portable SSD and connected it to the PC. I Backed up the PC to the SSD throughout Dropbox Backup. I was expecting to be able to open files and folders offline in the SSD, but this doesn't happened. I am almost sure I didn't understand the processes. I know that with a simple USB device I can reach files offline when working on the PC. So I will greatly appreciate to be tutored for 2 things. How to backup the PC to the SSD with Dropbox; How to make the SSD available as the PC to open files and folder. In the PC I have only a litle space, less than 50G free, and in the SSD I have 4T. So I want it to be the place containing offline Dropbox Files and Folder. I tried to be clear. Obiously I am poorly skilled in Superuser.14Views0likes1CommentCan't delete Dropbox folders; they reappear after deletion
I've tried to delete a few folders in my Dropbox, but every time I do they reappear shortly after I delete them. Shortly as in, I don't have time to go to the trash folder on my computer or the deleted files section on the Dropbox website to click and delete them. I've followed all the suggested solutions and nothing works. I've checked the permissions; they are all labeled "Only Me." So I should be able to delete them...nope. I've checked to see if it's still syncing; it is not. Many of the folders are from a range of 1 - 7 months ago. I've deleted everything in the deleted files folder on the Dropbox site, but those folders are never in there to be able to delete because they restore immediately. Tried to clear the cache, but the directions to use the command in the Finder on Mac did not work. A cache folder never appeared after I used Command + Shift + . (period). Checked previous versions to see which device is restoring the file; it's my computer. I still tried deleting it from other computers as well as my own...nothing. I tried contacting support, but it just gives me a chat box that links me back to the SAME articles I referenced for the previous steps. OR directs me to this Community Forum in which people are having the same issues as me. According to a couple of replies from the Dropbox Team, they can't go in and delete files from their end either. It's absolutely ridiculous. This is a newspaper and we use these folders (organized by date) to keep track of files for upcoming editions. I cannot delete, at this point 3 folders (up from 1 persistent one that I've been trying to delete for 7 MONTHS). It's getting cluttered and confusing in the Dropbox and it's becoming more of a hassle than anything. You never know when a file or folder is actually going to delete or not. What is even the point of having an application that only works when you need to add something, but not delete? Might as well use the Google Drive at this point.61Views0likes3CommentsDropbox App won't open, the only thing that opens is my Dropbox Folder.
Dropbox app will not open. When I open the app it just opens the file explorer. I have already checked the Taskbar and it's not showing up there. I have also checked the taskbar setting and there is no option to show Dropbox application. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Preston7.4KViews0likes28Comments
