I have been having issues with my dropbox syncing across devices - I think there is an issue in my selective sync. However, everytime I attempt to open the dropbox desktop application on my mac, it only opens the finder folder. I have no options to go to dropbox setting or preferences from there.43Views0likes5CommentsDropbox won't show me the option to make content "available offline".
have installed Dropbox on two MacBooks. On the first one, I can download folders and make them available offline. However, this isn't working on this MacBook Air. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox. Dropbox has full disk access on this laptop. What is going wrong, and how can I resolve this?394Views0likes21CommentsI made my files online-only, but they're still taking up hard drive space.
My hard drive is full so I set all files to online only. How do I get the files off my local hard drive to open up storage on my hard drive? As is try to follow instructions on the help pages my Dropbox app doesn't show my avatar in the upper right corner, so I don't see Preferences. I have right clicked on the Dropbox in file explored and clicked on "manager hard dive space" to put all files to "online only" but the disk drive space doesn't free up.12Views0likes2CommentsMy screenshots don't save to my Dropbox account on Windows, even though the feature is enabled.
My screenshots are not saving to Dropbox at all even though the option is checked to do so right under settings. In fact I have the Snipping Tool for Windows 11 turned 100% off because I hate the dang thing and prefer screenshots hence why I use the "PRT SC" button in the first place! I don't want Screenshots going to Microsoft's Stupid "OneDrive" and turned that feature off as well for that known trash for OneDrive destroyed my system and took over my desktop on my old laptop and my backup that I personally made via an External Hard Drive and a Hard Drive Enclosure with my old laptop's hard drive (since it was a power port issue that killed it) and not a hard drive failure was able to get everything back but my horror it was all still connected under a link to OneDrive and my new laptop during setup forced everything to OneDrive but unmapped everything from OneDrive to where I want it and took control back from Microsoft (wish the same can be said about the Start Menu) but that's not what I'm here for. Ever since I had to get a new laptop because my old one died my screenshots will not save to Dropbox at all and they don't ever appear in my Dropbox "Screenshots" Folder. I literally have to open up Paint on my laptop and paste the screenshot there just to get it then put it into Dropbox. So to reiterate it in punctuated facts: EVER SINCE I GOT THIS NEW LAPTOP AND INSTALLED DROPBOX (BASIC) ALL OF MY SCREENSHOTS DO NOT GO TO MY SCREENSHOTS FOLDER IN DROPBOX EVEN THOUGH MY SETTINGS ARE SET FOR THAT! Here's direct proof that Settings show that Screenshots are 100% set to save to Screenshots in Dropbox yet I go that folder and the screenshot I took is not there, it is on the Windows 11 Clipboard and I have to paste it into MS Paint then manually save that picture to Dropbox and the Screenshots folder where I wanted it in the first place!21Views0likes2CommentsA Dropbox icon has replaced the Desktop and Documents icons on macOS
I have Dropbox latest client installed in MacOS. I don't use the Dropbox backup features for desktop or documents - however it has still taken over these icons in the Finder navigation bar. I've tried removing Dropbox, but as soon as I reinstall, the icons revert back. Does anyone know how to clear / prevent Dropbox from taking over these icons in the Finder navigation bar?57Views0likes8CommentsBeta Build 222.3.4863

Hi everyone, I'm experiencing an issue with Dropbox on my MacBook Pro. I have my Desktop and Documents folders synced to OneDrive, but after installing Dropbox, the icons for these folders in Finder's sidebar change to the Dropbox icon. I'm not syncing these folders with Dropbox, only with OneDrive. I've been in touch with Dropbox Support, but the solutions provided so far haven't worked. Here are some of the steps I've tried: Force quitting Dropbox: Using Activity Monitor to force quit all instances of Dropbox and then restarting the app. Removing and re-adding folders: Right-clicking on the affected folders in Finder's sidebar, removing them, and then dragging them back from their original locations. Restarting Finder: Relaunching Finder after quitting Dropbox. Despite these attempts, the issue persists. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution? Thanks in advance for your help!10Views0likes1CommentSupport online-only files for ARM (Snapdragon) processors
We are currently unable to use Dropbox on Windows Surface Pro Devices with Snapdragon Processors as they do not allow for Online-Only files. This causes the entirety of their files to sync to the device and renders the device unusable as all disk space is consumed.57Views2likes3CommentsI installed the Dropbox app on Windows 11, but it keeps freezing.
Just installed windows 11 24h2 in my computer and finished all the updates. Proceeded to install dropbox and the installation flows fine but right after setting up the account and selecting the folders to sync the programs stalls. Tried uninstalling, restarting the computer, clearing cache, clearing the register, installing again and the same. Have tried to not change the folders to download, have tried having only online and also in the laptop and it all fails. After a while, in some cases, the app restarts itself and asks me to sign in again and then it's the same issue all over again.49Views0likes7CommentsFiles that I update on my Mac don't sync online.
In the last couple of weeks, local files that I work on are not syncing online. If they do, it is extremely slow. My internet is fine. I am on a Mac as well. I work synchronously with others on these files, so it's a bit concerning that they may not be working on my most recent versions. I have been using dropbox for over 8 years.30Views0likes3Comments
