I just had an extremely frustrating experience. I needed to log my wife out of the desktop app and log myself in. I logged her out. It then presented me with a login button. I pressed it, but instead of presenting me with a login form, it just logged my wife back in again! Over and over again. It turns out that because my wife was logged into THE DROPBOX WEBSITE, the desktop app automatically logged her in as well – but with no useful information given to me, the user, to understand what the hell it was doing. Finally, the support person advised me to log her out of the website before attempting to log her out of the desktop app again. It finally worked. It took 1.5 hours for my chat support person and I to figure this out. Please fix this. At the very least, please have the desktop just SAY "User X is already logged into the dropbox.com website. Logging them into the Desktop app now." Thanks for considering this.12Views0likes1CommentTeam member able to see all of the account's file activity in the desktop app. We don't want this.
Team members are able to see the activity of all members (including admins) on the Desktop Application, especially in the system tray window. The administrator/owner of the account does not want this to be seen.17Views0likes1CommentDropbox abysmally slow - can't reinstall, can't sync, etc.
Hi all, I've recently built a new Windows 11 Pro PC with reasonably high-end specs (AMD 9800X3d CPU, 64GB RAM, 5080 GPU, etc.), and I'm trying to get it all set up the way I like. Everything is working great except Dropbox, which for some reason is so unbearably slow that it's effectively unusable. I'm on a 10Gbps internet connection (Sonic Fiber Optic) and this PC is connected via a 1Gbps router, so my SpeedTest.net results are great, averaging 900+Mbps up and down via a wired Ethernet connection. Literally no other app or service is having speed issues - it's just DropBox. I am currently stuck with the installer struggling to even download the app, let alone syncing data from my 2Tb account. What gives?!12Views0likes3CommentsPlease revert the new screenshot "feature" on MacOS, or at least give us the option to do so.
Hi, can you PLEASE revert that new Screenshot "feature" you added in MacOS. Previously, it was possible to simply drag and drop a Screenshot into Finder or Photos right after it was taken. Now, your stupid popup shows up and drag and drop doesn't work. This worked PERFECTLY in the past and there was NO reason to touch this functionality. Why are you taking this feature away from us???148Views3likes7CommentsWhy was the way screenshots were handled changed?
Me and my friends question what drove the people behind this software to break something intentionally like that? I work as a Quality Assurance expert, and can only see this change as sabotage. When I press "PrtSc" I want the image to be copied into my clipboard. The fact that it was saved into the screenshots folder wasn't always desired, but I could deal with it (always cleaned up that folder once a month). But now that doesn't happen. I get so many extra steps, and if I opt out of it, I'm left with nothing. Sure, I could just install a different software for making screenshots, but that seems so stupid to do, given what worked before!153Views2likes11CommentsThe desktop app on one of my computers keeps throwing a startup error.
I am getting a permission error on my home computer when trying to sync. Tried the help online but I am still getting the same error. This is what pops up. It has been months since I have been able to use this computer because of this error. Now I have to use this computer and still no support.14Views0likes4CommentsChanges to files or folders being synced to locally recently
Was there a change to how the files were being synced from the cloud recently? Files that were in the cloud stayed sync off the machine locally but now are trying to sync on the machine and taking up hard drive space unlike before. Nothing was changed and seems it just started last week. Unsure if there was an update as it appears to be happening with a few others in my company as well.20Views0likes3CommentsDesktop app installation on Windows 10 failed to start
Using Windows 10 in boot camp, trying to reinstall the desktop app but keep getting the installer failed to start message. I went through and found various instances of dropbox still showing which seems that the uninstall did not complete properly. Is there a cleaner tool that can ran to reinstall the app again?8Views0likes1Comment
