I have both my personal Dropbox and work Dropbox accounts on my work desktop. I recently updated my Windows and Dropbox has been stuck syncing ever since. For some reason, only my personal account is not syncing properly on this desktop. On my laptop, both are working fine. I tried to make sure dropbox is allowed through the firewall and security settings of my desktop. I also tried pausing syncing for an hour and then letting it resume syncing and that did not help. Thanks in advance for any advice!13Views0likes2CommentsI'm trying to access Passwords from one of my 3 authorized devices, but get an error.
I have a Basic plan with 3 devices authorized. I am working from one of the 3 devices, and while logged in to Dropbox, it will not allow me to access Dropbox Passwords, saying I am already logged in to 3 devices. This is clearly an error, and I should not have to log out from one of my other devices to access. Can someone help?23Views0likes6CommentsCamera uploads are not visible when I click on "example" on my PC
Hi, Normally when I browse through my camera uploads on my PC, I can see the pictures on the right side of the screen when I push "Example". These pictures are large. Now however I do not see anything at the most of the pictures, and small pictures on others. Dropbox is set to sync pictures so that they are available off line. Can anyoune help solve this? Thanks in advance Regards Esben40Views0likes10CommentsSender receives an email notification when and with who they share a folder with!
Whenever the owner shares a folder/ file in dropbox they should receive a delivery notification that the folder/ file has been shared with the receiver detailing the date/ time/ receiver details (name and account/ email), similar to the one a receiver gets from dropbox portal that a file/ folder has been shared by xxxx dropbox account. We all make mistakes or sometimes it could be some glitch in the devices, a folder is shared accidently and as you do not receive any notifications so such detail can easily be missed as the sender is oblivious of the activity/ mistake and it can go unnoticed. When the receiver accepts and joins the folder than its easy to check who has access but in cases where the receiver accepts and immediately removes themselves in that case its practically impossible to track if the shared folder was ever accessed by the receiver. This also can be deemed as a security concern, as the sender is completely oblivious of the shared folder status and there is no proof that the folder was actually shared with the receiver. The activity log and events page do reflect the sharing of the folder but do not provide details with who the folder/ file was shared. Hope this can be taken into consideration as can surely help track sharing of folders much better and secured. Thanks7Views0likes0CommentsVery slow syncing on new Mac
Hi folks, I have a new Mac and have migrated from my old one. Dropbox is set up and indexed. Now I want 200Gb of my Dropbox files on my mac. But the download is very slow and seems to keep stalling (requiring quitting and restarting). And even when it is working, it downloads at a maximim of 3.5Mb/sec even though the network can sustain a lot more. Dot points: The Dropbox sync status doesn't give more details than just "Syncing ..." (unlike what it often does indicating how many files and the time to sync). The only way I can work out if anything is happening is to use Activity Monitor and check the network status to see if there is activity. That's where I see up to 3.5 Mb/sec sometimes when Dropbox is syncing. Yes I have restarted the Mac various times. I have also turned on LAN sync with my old Mac on the same network but that doesn't seem to help. So, Dropbox team, what is going on? Cheers, Chris44Views0likes5CommentsOne of my Mac devices doesn't sync content from my Dropbox folder online.
This subject line has come up before, but my problem is not caused by filenaming errors. I have dropbox on four computers; everything syncs fine except on one laptop: the laptop will update files that are edited on other machines, but anything I edit on the laptop will not sync to the desktop machines. This includes file edits, moving files/folders around and folder/file renaming. None of the relevant files are shared with other people, only with my account. I've checked everything to do with firewalls and permissions, all of which are as they should be, reinstalled dropbox, logged out and in, restarted computer and updated operating systems. There is plenty of space in the Dropbox Pro account and on the laptop hard drive (and the hard drives of all other machines). All machines are running MacOs Ventura 13.7.4. All are correctly connected to the internet and have LAN sync enabled. Some of the sync icons on the laptop show the blue active circle, but those are files that are updating from the other machines. Some files on the laptop have the red x and I cannot get them to upload to the cloud. I have tried making all the files offline only, to force them to sync to the cloud, but those that do show the cloud icon, are still not updating to the other machines. I have tried making the entire dropbox on this computer 'offline only', but still none of the files are updating/uploading. There are no error messages, but the activity monitor seems to be permanently 'updating files'; only a few MB, but even leaving it chunking along overnight does not clear the updating queue.14Views0likes1CommentI right clicked on my dropbox file and clicked make online only..now what?
I right clicked on my dropbox file and clicked make online only..now what? The dropbox file/folder in my laptop has over 400 GB. I made that file Make available Online Only but it still shows 400GB of my laptop space used. What do I do? Do I delete the files that were in my laptop? Please help, Dante7Views0likes2Comments
