All of a sudden, after years of no trouble, my Dropbox running on Win11 in a Parallels VM on a Mac has become uncontrollable when I open the applet and move the mouse cursor, a little tiny version of the window overlays the main window and I can't select anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app - no change. Everything works fine on the Mac side. I can't make the little window go away. Any ideas?7Views0likes1CommentCertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property.
This is still happening even after a year of the Dropbox devs "looking into it." It's spamming my Windows logs, and Dropbox is also causing my machine to take 20 minutes to shut down or restart (uninstalling it fixed the issues). Reinstalling it made them all come back. So I have permanently uninstalled this app, and I'm canceling my subscription because the devs can't get their act together.Solved18Views0likes4CommentsDropbox online-only consuming hard drive space on Windows
I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Solved200Views0likes3CommentsCertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property.
As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc(Dropbox service) event source. Can you all please fix your desktop client software to stop spamming my event logs with these errors? This issue has dragged on far, far too long already. Either stop emitting these errors, or fix the underlying problem. Thank you.42KViews9likes88CommentsDropbox isn't syncing files between my old and new Windows computer.
Three days ago, I added Dropbox to a new ASUS Zenbook (Windows 11). Since then, no files have been updated on the ASUS although I have changed files on an old (Windows 10) Dell XPS. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox on the ASUS, which erased/restored the Dropbox folder, but the files are still 3 days old. The Dropbox icon in the ASUS taskbar says the files are up to date. But they are not. Likewise, any changes or added files I make to ASUS Dropbox do not show up on the Dell. On both computers, the Dropbox file is stored on the local desktop (not on OneDrive). I have added exceptions to my firewall (although it has allowed restoring the 3-day old Dropbox folder) but I cannot get recent file changes. From https://help.dropbox.com/sync/check-sync-status "How to sync a file or folder ... 3. Right-click the file or folder. 4. Click Sync next under Quick Actions." I do not see Quick Actions. So, I tried "View on Dropbox.com" for 2 recently changed files. This showed the files as they were before I made changes from the Dell 2-3 hours ago. These match the old version I see on the ASUS. Because sync is not working, I must resort to copying files via a thumb drive. Please HELP! Congratulations Dropbox! You've just put the nail in the coffin of all W7 users who prefer not to be spied on and constantly used for data scraping! Well done. If the constant scaremonger nagging about running out of space, the constant begging to upgrade, the incessant app updating demands, the constant USB device interrogation upon connection wasn't enough of an incentive to finally ditch Dropbox for good, then the cutting off of users of a still perfectly good and functional, non-spyware infested OS will be the last straw. Thank you Dropbox for giving me the incentive to go to your competitors instead and get out of your ever more bloated crapware ecosystem. Sometimes, people need a little push to get away from what's comfortable and familiar, even though they suspect just how bad that relationship is for them. I thank you Dropbox for giving me this little push. Goodbye.6.1KViews7likes24CommentsMy Dropbox app is stuck at "Connecting" and I can't use compatibility mode either.
Hello, I have seen numerous/old threads on this "Unable to connect to internet" issue when launching the DropBox client but still no luck after multiple attempts. I use Windows 10 and everything connecting fine to internet. Of course I tried disabling VPN/Firewall and multiple uninstall/reboot/reinstall and nothing helps. I use latest version 211.4.6008 and even tried installing old ones (210.5.4894 and 197.4.7629) and this didn't help either Long time ago, I had this issue and I was told to run DropBox in compatibility mode. This was fine until recently when DropBox said that I couldn't do that anymore and as soon as compatibility mode is turned off, then I can't connect anymore. If I turn on compatibility mode, it connects fine, sync all files and then suddenly tells me that I can no longer run in compatibility mode and I have no other solution than to turn off compatibility mode and then it is no longer able to connect (stuck on "Connecting..."). Maybe this has something to do with SSL/TLS, I tried sniffing the traffic, enable disable IP v6/v4, tried on wifi vs. ethernet, and so on. Still nothing. So how can I use Dropbox on my Windows 10 machine? Is there any setting/registry entry/troubleshooting tool you can suggest? Please help. Thanks. I'm using Dropbox on Windows Server 2019, and recently it stopped working, saying, "Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 has ended." They provided a link to download a "Long-Term Support" app, but after installing it, I’m still getting the same message, and it won’t launch. Has anyone else experienced this? It's frustrating, especially since I already installed the recommended LTS app. Any advice or workarounds?441Views4likes19CommentsDropbox unexpectedly quits on Windows 10.
I have 4 sync computers and 1 cell phone It's normal on the website, it's normal on the cell phone, but two computers and two laptops Even if you synchronize, it will end, and it will end even if you delete it and reinstall it where you use it as the main pc. As a result, the folders overlap in duplicate and cannot be newly created with existing folders. The files are kept safe. Restart Dropbox to restart sync and other features. This situation suddenly happened I've reported help with vaccines, security, etc., but even after installing and rebooting, the above will continue to appear87Views0likes12CommentsI can't sign in to my Dropbox Windows app, as it's stuck starting up.
It was available until yesterday lunchtime I don't know what's going on, it's out of sync and keeps saying it's starting up This happens not only on my laptop, but also on other synchronized devices. I don't have any security programs or firewalls, and I've tried reinstalling them, but they don't work. I can still access Dropbox through the internet site. What should I do?80Views0likes12Comments
