I receive messages in the Dropbox notification list saying, "Dropbox functionality on Windows 7 will end May 2025." What is the exact date on which that will happen? If I upgrade to Windows 10 before that date, will I need to reinstall or otherwise reconfigure Dropbox for it to work on Windows 10?26Views0likes1CommentSecure and hidden files
It would be a great idea to implement an extra layer of protection to be able to hide certain files or be able to lock them with a set password within the app since I experience multiple users on multiple machines of mine being able to access most of the files. Therefor I would really benefit from a folder I can lock with my personal password and therefor hide sensitive information or files that should not be accessed by other users but me. I would suggest calling it something like Vault or Hidden Files. This could also be done via integration through the apps, let people decide if they want to install the vault feature or not.34Views1like3CommentsI reinstalled the Dropbox app and now I'm being asked to rename the old folder and create a new one.
I just downloaded dropbox from their site. It is installing. It has reached the point of creating the dropbox folder -- if this was a new install. However, this is a reinstall. "Couldn't rename Dropbox to make room for your Dropbox folder. Dropbox needs to rename your existing folder or file named Dropbox to finish installing. Please close any open documents and try again." I have no files open that I can see. Should I reboot?62Views0likes5CommentsDropbox beta version appears on WinGet
Just letting you know that there is a beta version of Dropbox on the winget (Windows programme updater) system. >winget upgrade Name Id Version Available Source -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dropbox Dropbox.Dropbox 221.4.5365 222.3.4916 winget That's a bit confusing, and it would probably be better just to put release versions there.78Views1like5CommentsAdd an option to choose between the removed "Screenshot Added" notification or the quick actions.
I've gotten really used to seeing this notification every time I took a screenshot and it'd help me know if I saved a screenshot or not and i'm noticing it's gone and there's a new feature that I assume replaced this which is to show quick actions after screenshot, but I like the Screenshot Added notification more because it's just a notification, while the quick actions are a seperate window, and I don't want to switch windows back every time I take a screenshot, so I feel like if there was a way to choose in the Screenshots menu whether if you want there to be a notification informing you after saving a screenshot or if you want the quick actions. I would love for there to be an option to choose between those two.44Views1like2CommentsThe desktop app on one of my computers keeps throwing a startup error.

It has been months since I have been able to use this computer because of this error. Now I have to use this computer and still no support.Solved34Views0likes5CommentsError after installation when Dropbox starts creating a "Dropbox" dedicated folder. (Windows 10)

Hi there, Dropbox does not complete installation on a new Win 11 install that has been fully updated. This is the latest error code: I've tried different things for 2-3 days no and nothing has worked. I've rebooted, etc ad nauseum between each attempt: Normal install Normal install, run as admin Offline installer Offline installer, run as admin Offline installer run as admin with all antivirus/firewall turned off I'm in China, so tried all the above with and without VPN turned on. Any thoughts?Solved165Views0likes16Comments
