Tagging
33 TopicsTagging while using Dropbox App & online
I’d love to be able to add tags to each of my photos, while using the app. I’m a sports photographer and it would be great if I had the ability to quickly add a tag for each player the way I’m able to add comments to each photo. I can do it on my desktop, but that is also very clunky. There’s got to be an easier way to see a reasonably sized photo while adding a tag.116Views0likes2CommentsCan I tag people in photos and have Dropbox recognize them for search purposes?
Is it possible to learn Dropbox what is on images in a familiar way iPhone Photos....something like 1. Provide a photo of John Doe 2. Tag John Doe in the photo 3. Search for all images who have John Doe on it.1KViews0likes5CommentsPhoto Tagging and IPhone
Hi, I want to use the new tagging feature to tag my hundreds of photos. I’ve heard you can only tag and search tags on Dropbox.com. Are there any plans to make tags searchable with an iPhone? And why is there little to no information anywhere online about this tagging feature? And also as it relates to iPhone? Also, why are all old posts here archived and unreadable? Also, why couldn’t I even tag this post with “tag” or “tagging”? Isn’t this the organize area for posts? I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. Someone please help!969Views2likes2CommentsMake TAGS editable or deletable from master list, please
Through weeks of tagging thousands of my portrait photos, I've changed my tags to better flow and group by category, but the old tag names are still popping up as options. I would like those gone as options. It would be great to see a master list of tags, and from therebe able to manage (edit, delete) tags from a master list, not just from individual files. Thanks for considering!12KViews48likes24CommentsTags disappearing from files
Hi all, I have spent a bunch of time today adding tags to my photos and moving them out of specially named folders into generic folders e.g. In Dropbox Files > 2011 Photos > 2011 Snow I have added the tag #snow to all the files in the 2011 Snow folder, then moved them all to 2011 Photos (then deleted "2011 Snow"). While when I search for #snow the photos come up (and I can see it when I open the file and click to view info), the tags aren't displaying in the photo preview info like they were before I moved them. i.e I used to be able to click down the photos in "2011 Snow" and see the different tags in the RHS info pane, listed under the "Add a Tag" box. Now for all the moved files there is nothing showing there and I have to go into the photo itself. Is this a bug? Is there something you or I can do to resolve this? Thanks in advance for any help, I'm panicking that I've wasted a whole lot of time doing this 😞 I also can't see the tag added to the metadata of the file at all, which I assumed would be the case, and made me more comfortable that if I moved to a different photo storage solution that the tagging would still be useful. Is this not the case?588Views0likes6CommentsTags not visible in the right side pane
Hello, in the last days we have noticed that the tags we have added to our image files are no longer displayed in the right information column (after adding the checkmark on the left for the file) (view first image) . Also, in the quick view of the image, when clicking on file information, the tags are mostly not displayed. Only when opening the image file completely and clicking on File > Info, the tags are shown.(view second image) This problem did not exist until 1 to 2 weeks ago. However, the search with these tags still does work normally, there is no problem with it. Does anybody has the same problem or has an idea how to solve it? Dropbox contains a tagging feature, but it only works inside of dropbox. Search a file -> add a tag. I want to be able to tag files outside of Dropbox, and have Dropbox read my tags from the file! I personally only need to know what the Dropbox code would be looking at, and I'll program the tagging part of the file myself, for myself. But if Dropbox decides to implement the full thing, that'd be awesome as well. For example: when I select a folder for upload on my phone, it'd be nice to tag all files in that folder with something specific, so it doesn't become one big pile of rubbish when I auto sort it into another folder using dropbox automations. A solid example: My phone contains a camera album, and a whatsapp album. I upload both automatically so they end up in 'camera uploads'. Once they've been uploaded, they get automatically split into folders by year. But now I've got a folder '2024' with all my family pics, mixed with the crazy **** my friends sent me. I'd like to automatically split those files into a sub-folder of 2024.427Views0likes2Comments
