2030 TopicsWhy am I getting an error that my account is full after uploading files to shared folders?
This has happened with multiple clients with large amounts of storage. They share a set of folders but it doesn't see their storage amount it only sees my 2GB limit and I can't upload even though the client has plenty of room. When I sign out to see if I can access that way it asks me to sign into DB to access the link. Hi, I use dropbox on multiple devices but predominantly on a Macbook Pro. I traditionally keep all my files and folders within the Dropbox folder and allow all data to sync up to dropbox. Is there a way to stop a folder (nested under the dropbox top folder) from uploading to dropbox. I realise I can just move the folder out of the toplevel folder but I preferably dont want to do this. Dear smart people, I want to free up space in Dropbox by deleting files there. Can someone explain how to put the contents (mostly word documents and some photos) of my current Dropbox onto an external hard drive in case I need something in the future? Step by step instructions I mean. I don't know how to do it, but am also concerned that the copied files could disappear from the external hard drive when I then delete them from my Dropbox account. Is that possible? I use Dropbox from a laptop computer. I looked at past discussion posts but they're all too complicated. I have been on Dropbox for years. In the old days, they had onboarding "tasks" you could perform to get extra free space. I did some of those. So my limits are?/show as different from a typical basic/free plan. But the application is currently limiting me to an arbitrary space that is neither my listed (in the lower left hand account space field) available space, nor the 2G limit of a standard free account. Hi, I am using Dropbox on linux and it works OK. It is installed on my home drive /home/myname/Dropbox, as it should. Syncing to and from the cloud works fine. My problem is that my home drive (/home/myname) is running out of space, so I mounted an extra drive inside the Dropbox directory on my home drive: /home/myname/Dropbox/Dropbox-extra. I can see this new folder in the listing in the cloud and on my local computer, but files or directories inside this new folder (i.e. /home/myname/Dropbox/Dropbox-extra/xxxx) are not syncing with the cloud (neither to or from the cloud). How do I make this to work? If this doesn't work I need to replace my current drive for new one, although I have enough space with the "solution" I decribed above. I have three computers, each of which have different storage needs. I had been using all three on my Dropbox account, with different folder sync settings, and that had worked for years. I recently replaced on of my computers, and now Dropbox won't seem to let me set the backups on the new computer. It seems to be trying to sync everything, and does not have enough space - so now the computer simply say not enough storage space. my .dropbox_bi folder is eating 679GB, and I cannot even get into it to see what all that is. Hi, I’m using the Basic plan. Even after deleting a large folder (12GB), my storage still shows 7.2GB used. All files now total only about 3.4GB. Deleted files and backups are empty. Could you please reset or recalculate my storage usage? Thank you.17Views0likes2Comments
