Banned for sharing, but I'm not sharing any files.
I received an email stating that I’ve been banned for sharing files over 20GB/MB, but I don’t have any files currently being shared and can’t identify which files the message is referring to. I checked the forums and noticed that others are experiencing similar issues. Recently, I downloaded a file via a Dropbox link that was shared on Patreon. The file wasn't mine, and I only accessed it through my web browser; it wasn't added directly to my Dropbox account. Shortly after clicking the link, I received the email regarding the violation. Could this be a bug? I’ve downloaded shared links from others in the past without any problems and have never received a warning like this before. Can't contact support if there no way to contact them an as well as get ding by downloading it from a link now does this to us?
Remove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!Newly made embedded mp3s won't play, they are grayed out.
I have a website where I share recordings of my piano playing with family/friends. I use blogspot to link to the audio files that are in a public folder on Dropbox. I have used the same html for 12 years, but suddenly the copied links from Dropbox won't work embedded - the controls are greyed out. I've spent 2 hrs trouble shooting. The old links still work. But the new links won't. I've tried different browsers, my phone, etc. I can't figure it out. Is it necessary to have to verify identity when accessing a shared folder through a link?
I shared a folder to "anyone with the link". When someone tries to access it from a new browser (never signed in to Dropbox before) they are always hit with a message to verify identity. Is there no way around this message so they can just get to the folder? Attaching screenshot. Thanks, Christi
How can I make sure that my shared link recipients can't see each other?
Very simple dropbox user. upload blueprints, copy link, email to vendors. Now all my vendors can see eachother and thats not good. Also it is making my invitees request my permission to access the folders. All im doing is creating folder, copying that link and emailing it to my vendors. What changed and why can they see eachother now. im not paying for a stupid account so i can call customer service.
Shared links stopped working. We’ve interrupted your sharing activity.
Hi guys, All shared links stopped working all of a sudden. These shared links worked nicely for a long time. I am on the Basic plan, so I can't contact Dropbox support. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would let me know how to fix this. Thanks!
The shared link URL is different on the website vs the URL from the Windows app
In website the url contains &st=xxxxxx so we can use the link with with dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 While the windows app's sharing link doesn't include the &st=xxxxxx hence chaging dl.dropboxusercontent.com ending with ;raw=1 doesn't work.
