Shared Folders
741 TopicsI can't access someone else's folder due to lack of space?
I get a message to join a folder of an association. When I click on that I get the message that I don't have enough space while I only use 1.94 GB of my 6.75 GB. I keep getting the message to upgrade to more space....... My available space is 6,75 GB but that doesn't matter because it's the map of someone else! If I click on "Lid worden van map" I get message below................ Who knows the solution for that............Solved18Views0likes4CommentsUX feedback about "Join Folder" button when clicking on a shared link
As I share links (created via OS folder view) to customers, i have had several of them clicking "Join Folder" as they think that is the priority way of dealing with the link they received. My purpose has been to share a link that multiple users can access - if I have the need to give full read/write access to a user (aka "join folder") - I would give that permission in the first place. This leads to two questions: 1) Why is the "Join Folder" -button so highlighted when user enters via normal link, instead of it being either "copy to dropbox" or "download"? (buttons shown to users could be filtered based on the link user uses to access the folder). 2) Would the "Join Folder" button be even needed IF the link shared is created with a method "who ever has this link can read the files and copy them"? This leads to a conclusion, that maybe Dropbox should filter the buttons out based on the link user uses to access the folder. Why this error happens on a user: To me understanding, it happens because a) the button is highlighted blue and they just click it by heart without reading what the buttons actually state, or 2) they do not understand what "join folder" means - as it really does not indicate in any way, that user is actually requesting full read/write access to a folder, 3) or both reasons -> they do not understand the button text and believe it is the right one as it is highlighted. If the button must exist, I would 1) change the button order and put it to be the last option, 2) rename it to (something like): - Request Ownership - Full Access - Authorize Now it just reminds too much of "joining the folder to see the files".2.1KViews2likes13CommentsShared folders missing only in File Explorer on Windows, why?
I am struggling to see shared files on my PC at work. They show up on dropbox.com, my phone and mac at home. I have double checked the file names to be sure there are no "disallowed" characters. I have shared the folder and I have reshared each individual file. When I opened one of the files on my PC it said the file was last edited by the owner 423 years ago. We checked time and date on her mac and my PC to be sure that was not the issue. NOPE, those were fine too. This is the first issue I have had with sharing since we started using dropbox in 2008. Hoping someone might be able to talk me through this.111Views0likes2CommentsI accidentally unshared a folder and now I can't add it back to my account.
By mistake, I just unshared a folder where I was the owner and the folder disappeared from my Dropbox Business account. The folder's name is CMaluk...it appears faded when I try to see it again online. PLEASE HELP ME RECOVER IT.128Views0likes4CommentsI have a shared folder, but every file I put in seems to be locked.
I volunteer with a local hospital radio station. For one of the programmes I do, we have shared a Dropbox for at least ten years and have never had an issue. I recently created a new shared directory but every file I put in from mycomputer is "locked" on the one at the studio which means I can't do anything with it; eg copy, paste, move or rename. Why is that and how can I stop it from happening as it is currently completely usesless. Thanks.470Views0likes12CommentsI'm trying to share a folder with other users, but I keep being asked to verify the email.
Hello , I started dropbox business trial today and trying to share a folder to 2 users .But each time it is asking to verify email address and upon clicking the verification email it lead to dropbox home and nothing happens. Same happens if i add members to the team. Kindly check if someone has come through this and how to get it resolved.142Views0likes1CommentThis setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate
Hi all - I have a shared folder. If I have it set so that "Only people invited can access", how would that change for a collaborator? I see the note "This setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate" and just want to ensure that only people added can view/edit the folder and the link can't be shared with others.57Views0likes1Comment
