Hi all! It would be great if we had a rich text option when writing descriptions for our file requests. It would also be great if I could change the name that's sending the request so it can come from my client and not me personally. Here's an example where some line breaks and HTML markup would be super helpful!18Views0likes1CommentShared link asks viewers to request access. Why does this happen?
Greetings. I have a shared file set to be viewable by anyone with the link, and I've sent the link to those I want to view the file (see screenshot). However, when they access the link, Dropbox states they "do not have access to this file" and offers the option to request access, which I must individually approve. I have other files configured with these same settings, and those with whom I've shared those links can access them without any separate approval. I don't know why this particular file is different. Am I missing something?Solved16KViews3likes79CommentsCan we have a way to edit the text for file requests?
I'm using the Dropbox File Request feature to create a consistent upload link that my clients can use to securely upload documents at any time, without needing me to send them a request for each instance. However, the default text "sent you this request" displayed on the upload page is misleading in this context. It implies that I personally sent the link for each specific instance, which isn't accurate since clients are accessing the link independently. I would suggest Dropbox consider updating this language to something more neutral, such as "You are submitting files via a secure request" or "Secure Document Upload Portal." This would better align with scenarios where the File Request link is shared proactively or embedded in a website, rather than being sent directly. This small change would greatly enhance the professional appearance and clarity of the File Request feature. Is there currently a way to customize this text, or could this be considered for future updates? Thank you!22Views0likes2CommentsCan I access someone else's Dropbox without adding their whole Dropbox to my own account?
Hello Community. I have been asked to use/add files to another organisation's Dropbox and they have sent me a link inviting me to edit their folder. However, the link from Dropbox suggests that I need to 'Add to Dropbox' - that is, adding that organisation's whole folder to MY Dropbox. That company's Dropbox is going to be HUGE and I obviously don't want to add their whole company Dropbox to my own private Dropbox. Is there a way they should be inviting me to EDIT or ADD to their Dropbox that doesn't mean their whole Dropbox needs to be added to MY Dropbox? Many thanks in advance, lane_RHLSolved8.3KViews1like10CommentsUsing Dropbox for wedding
I am currently organizing my wedding. One of the ideas that I have is providing guests with a QR code that direct them to my dropbox. The intent is for them to take pictures on the big day and upload them to the file so that after the wedding I can transfer the pics to shutterfly to make a book. When I asked a friend to try the process she was able to get to the file and was able to look at the pics that I have in there. She however was not able to load any of her own into the account and got the notification " this folder is view only". Is there any way that I can change the settings so that everbody that access the QR code can upload pics?Solved8.7KViews0likes6CommentsI don't see the option to unshare a folder, even though I'm the owner
I'm facing some problems when trying to stop sharing several folders I'm the owner. The share icon is present, but I am the only member of this folder. I understand that until I remove myself from the shared folder, it will remains shared; however, I can neither find the option to remove myself from the folder nor the option to "unshare folder". What should I do?? It seems that the issue of unsharing folders is very common on this forum, perhaps indicating that this feature isn't as easy to use as the Dropbox team thinks, or the documentation is not explicit as it should be.4KViews1like46CommentsMy account shows that someone else is the owner.
My account shows that another person owns it. I'm unable to use features because that person is always on the shared list as the owner. Do I close it and open it under a different email address? I don't really want to do that because I want it associated with my company name/email address.602Views0likes3Comments
