Notification/warning when closing a locked file
My idea is about locked files and the problem that people forget to unlock it after they're done working in it. To avoid that people forget to unlock a file after they close it, it would be nice that you get a warning about the file still being locked when you close it. (in the same way an application asks you if you want to save changes before closing it) This notification would avoid the problem that a file stays locked for hours or days without reason, just because someone forgot to unlock it.
The Dropbox right-click options are gone from my Mac's Finder.
I recently changed the location of my Dropbox folder and now I no longer have my right-click menu. Dropbox is running and everything has been synced. I've restarted and reinstalled dropbox and it did not fix my issue. Latest version of Dropbox: 221.4.5365 MacOS: 15.4Banned for sharing, but I'm not sharing any files.
I received an email stating that I’ve been banned for sharing files over 20GB/MB, but I don’t have any files currently being shared and can’t identify which files the message is referring to. I checked the forums and noticed that others are experiencing similar issues. Recently, I downloaded a file via a Dropbox link that was shared on Patreon. The file wasn't mine, and I only accessed it through my web browser; it wasn't added directly to my Dropbox account. Shortly after clicking the link, I received the email regarding the violation. Could this be a bug? I’ve downloaded shared links from others in the past without any problems and have never received a warning like this before. Can't contact support if there no way to contact them an as well as get ding by downloading it from a link now does this to us?
Apple Mail no longer shows previews of shared links
For years I was able to see a small preview of the link when sending files via the "share" context menu and then pasting them into Apple Mail. This preview has disappeared for a few days now and nothing can restore it. Does anyone have any idea what setting this could be or what cache or Mac file I would have to delete to see these previews again? Best regards, Hoppigaloppi
How can an external user share a folder with other people outside the team?
Hi, I have shared one of my dropbox folders with an external user outside my team. I would like him to be able to share that folder with other users. Is it possible to give this one user that permission? When he right clicks-> share on the folder, he gets a message saying he can only share with a link. I would like him to be able to add other external users with email address.
Remove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!
Be able to select multiple files from a shared link (to download).
I recceived a shared Dropbox link from a family member. Using a browser, I can open the shared link and view or download individual files. I can also download ALL files in the shared link. However, I cannot select multiple files to download. When viewing the files that I own, I can select multiple files. This same functionality should be available with files available from a shared link.
I need to remove some members from my shared folders, but I don't seem to be the owner.
I have discontinued a business relationship with a few people and would now like to unshare some of my folders in Dropbox. However, I don't seem to be able to do that, and what's worse, one of the ex-associates seems to be the OWNER of a folder in my account! How do I fix this? Mike.
