Setting up the apps

Hello, I'm running a PC with windows 8.1. Dropbox has been running fine for years Today I had to uninstall dropbox and when I tried to reinstall it, (after cleaning up de leftovers). I got stuck on a pretty blue logo going around after logging in while the greyed-out Dropbox icon in the taskbar reads "waiting to be linked to a dropbox account". I've been all day uninstalling, reinstalling, doing advanced re-installation as per your instructions, etc. to no aval. I've gone through every single post in the search results below: Search - Dropbox Community (dropboxforum.com) Please, don't give me the same instructions again. I am really frustrated because I have no way to work with my collaborators. I hope you can help me.Solved4.2KViews0likes9CommentsProblem with Blender 3d and MacOS Beta
Hi I just updated to the MacOS Dropbox BETA on Monterey 12.6.3, and it all seem to be working perfectly, except for a problem with Blender 3D 3.4. Blender seems to use a non standard file manager, maybe part of its cross platform development base, I assume. When I try to access my newly moved dropbox files (ie everything) from inside Blender I cannot get into the root dropbox folder. I can get to it via /users/user/library/cloudstorage but I cannot get further than that. This effects everything involving file diologues: open, save, export, import, linked textures, etc I've tried setting up alias that go directly to points further within the file hierarchy, but they always just lead me to the root folder and stop me there. I can double click on blender files within dropbox in the finder and they open fine, but if I try to save them they can't save back to dropbox. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to fix or get around this? Do I need symlinks rather than aliases, or is there some sort of permission I need to set? Cheers PeterSolved3KViews0likes13CommentsDropbox on new Mac keeps loading under the wrong email address.
I loaded Dropbox on a new Mac. Instead of the current Dropbox account, it keeps loading an old one under a different email address. I have followed these recommended steps, but in #4, Dropbox does not offer the option to sign in again that I can find. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. I have a paid account. Suggestions? "1. Sign out of the app. 2. Open Dropbox.com in your web browser and sign out there as well. 3. Sign in to Dropbox.com using the correct email address. 4. Then try signing back in to the Dropbox app on the computer.50Views0likes5CommentsAndroid PDF quality settings, and turn off automatic scan.
Hi, I am using the Dropbox app on an IOS phone (IPhone). I mainly use the app to scan documents to PDF format. In the app I have the option to set the quality in which the document is scanned, and I have the option to disable automatic scanning (I prefer to capture the document well myself with the camera and manually start the scanning process). Once these options are set, the Dropbox app remembers these settings every time I launch it. My question : how can I set these options on Android ? Nowhere can I find an option regarding the quality of the resulting PDF. On the other hand, after turning off automatic scanning must be run every time.19Views0likes0CommentsThe middle mouse button scroll isn't working in the File section of Dropbox.
Scenario: Android Samsung S8 Tab in DEX with mouse. Middle button scroll works perfectly anywhere but in the file section of Dropbox. In Home, Photo and account section of dropbox the middle mouse button scrolling works. In file section it is not. Seems like a bug to us. Any take?46Views0likes3CommentsHow to share a Dropbox folder between Windows and Linux installs on the same PC?
Currently it is impossible to share a Dropbox folder between Windows and Linux installs on the same PC. They appear to contain the same files with the same metadata, but Dropbox for Linux refuses to write to an NTFS partition, and similarly Dropbox for Windows refuses to write to ext4. Is there a workaround for this? I don't want two copies of everything. I have been a loyal Dropbox user for years because I believe in supporting software that does one thing and does it well, but this "no mixing filesystems" rule means I have to choose between Dropbox and my dual-boot. I would love it if I didn't have to choose, and I'm sure I'm not alone!415Views2likes3CommentsHow to keep the "date modified" from changing when transferring files to dropbox?
My computer is full so I have been manually "option" copying my files to my dropbox. I just went into one of my client folders and noticed that each and every file now have a revised "date modified" changed to the date I put the files on dropbox! This is a minor disaster - I didn't realize how much I relied on those dates. How do I keep the "date modified" from changing when I transfer files over to dropbox? Because the whole "date modified" thing becomes pointless/useless despite being really valuable/helpful. Ugh!8.7KViews3likes6CommentsAny benefits to migrating to Dropbox for macOS on File Provider?
I'm interested to hear if the move to the new DB version does offer any benefits at all. From all I've gathered, it seems certain features, that some depend upon, have been removed as more control is handed over to macos.514Views0likes3Comments
