Why was the way screenshots were handled changed?
Me and my friends question what drove the people behind this software to break something intentionally like that? I work as a Quality Assurance expert, and can only see this change as sabotage. When I press "PrtSc" I want the image to be copied into my clipboard. The fact that it was saved into the screenshots folder wasn't always desired, but I could deal with it (always cleaned up that folder once a month). But now that doesn't happen. I get so many extra steps, and if I opt out of it, I'm left with nothing. Sure, I could just install a different software for making screenshots, but that seems so stupid to do, given what worked before!
My screenshots don't save to my Dropbox account on Windows, even though the feature is enabled.
My screenshots are not saving to Dropbox at all even though the option is checked to do so right under settings. In fact I have the Snipping Tool for Windows 11 turned 100% off because I hate the dang thing and prefer screenshots hence why I use the "PRT SC" button in the first place! I don't want Screenshots going to Microsoft's Stupid "OneDrive" and turned that feature off as well for that known trash for OneDrive destroyed my system and took over my desktop on my old laptop and my backup that I personally made via an External Hard Drive and a Hard Drive Enclosure with my old laptop's hard drive (since it was a power port issue that killed it) and not a hard drive failure was able to get everything back but my horror it was all still connected under a link to OneDrive and my new laptop during setup forced everything to OneDrive but unmapped everything from OneDrive to where I want it and took control back from Microsoft (wish the same can be said about the Start Menu) but that's not what I'm here for. Ever since I had to get a new laptop because my old one died my screenshots will not save to Dropbox at all and they don't ever appear in my Dropbox "Screenshots" Folder. I literally have to open up Paint on my laptop and paste the screenshot there just to get it then put it into Dropbox. So to reiterate it in punctuated facts: EVER SINCE I GOT THIS NEW LAPTOP AND INSTALLED DROPBOX (BASIC) ALL OF MY SCREENSHOTS DO NOT GO TO MY SCREENSHOTS FOLDER IN DROPBOX EVEN THOUGH MY SETTINGS ARE SET FOR THAT! Here's direct proof that Settings show that Screenshots are 100% set to save to Screenshots in Dropbox yet I go that folder and the screenshot I took is not there, it is on the Windows 11 Clipboard and I have to paste it into MS Paint then manually save that picture to Dropbox and the Screenshots folder where I wanted it in the first place!Is it possible Dropbox deleted my photos due to inactivity/being over-quota?
Hello, Has dropbox at anytime removed/deleted photos due to low storage or not accessing dropbox w/in a certain time frame? I have dropbox accounts under two separate email addresses. One has photos and the other does not. I created them so that I could put photos on them so Im a bit confused why Id have an account and no photos and I seem to think the 2nd account had photos. Is there anywhere I can check as to the history? What could have happened to my photos? I did look through some articles and didnt really understand them...other than asking if the photos stored on DropBox are somehow connected to our PC's? There was something mentioned about syncing them. I only recall adding photos to drop box as a storage device. idk honestly. Thanks for any information you can provide.
I can't paste the screenshots I capture on Windows
For some reason I cannot pate the screenshots after I press "Print Screen". I have dropbox on my pc set to copy link when image is ready and then there is a pop up on the bottom right when I take a picture and it says "press ctrl+v to copy" BUT IT DOESN'T work at all!
Photo updates to USB from Dropbox
Hi, I’m an Emergency Services photographer, and I regularly provide USB’s filled with images of their station, trucks and personnel. Each time I receive a USB back to add new content, I have to manually delete the existing files from the USB to put the new Synced DropBox stuff onto it or manually select the rows of photos and Copy & Paste them onto the USB file. upload the updated versions, and then copy everything back onto the USB. It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature where I can simply select new content and press “Upload New Content to USB,” allowing the system to automatically update the drive with only the new additions. (I upload photos from my iPad onto the cloud then use the Dragging and Copy and Paste feature on laptop.) I’d love for this idea to be considered! - Ty
The Photos page on the website is very slow, why?
Hi everyone, My name is Benoit, and I have been a Dropbox user since 2016. For me, my entire life is in Dropbox, and it is very important for me to have access to your solution. However, I have a small issue when trying to view my photos on the website (https://www.dropbox.com/photos). It is very difficult to find a specific photo, and the page loads very slowly! For example, when I try to find a picture from year, the page takes a long time to load. I set the filter to the year 2022, and it takes 4 to 5 minutes to display all the photos from that year! I tried in different browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Brave, but it's the same issue. Also, I tried in Linux Mint, Windows (10 and 11) and I've the same problem. My wife uses a different solution, like Google Photos(🤮), and when she wants to find a photo, it is not as slow as Dropbox and she can search for a photo by name. Atualmente, esse nível de segurança não está presente em todas as plataformas, tornando necessário um reforço na proteção de fotos enviadas para a nuvem, garantindo a privacidade e prevenindo acessos não autorizados. Acredito que o Dropbox poderia dedicar mais atenção a essa questão, pois não me sinto seguro ao armazenar prints ou fotos da galeria do meu celular. Hello. I used to take a screenshot, it would save and I could just paste it into any chat by pressing CTRL+V. Now I can't do that, every time after I take a screenshot I have to go to the DROPBOX folder and then drag the screenshot I want into the chat. How can I get it all back? I don't need a link when copying, I need a screenshot.👿How do I stop Dropbox from uploading every single picture on my PC?
I use Dropbox on my computer to backup my work files which include my 3D renders that consist in a png sequence (one image per frame at 30 or 60fps), so I have thousands of png images related to renders but dropbox automatically adds them to the camera uploads in my phone app which is extremely annoying because I need to scroll down thousands of images to see my actual photos... if I delete them it deletes my render backup as well, it does the same thing for textures, which makes my photo roll unusable.
