Audio transcription malfunction, hard line breaks partway across every line
Recently when I have copied .wma audio transcripts from Dropbox to a Word document, the text inserts a hard line break on every line of the page about 2/3 horizontally across the page, with breaks landing in mid sentence. It never used to do this. The previous transcription format wasn't all that great either, and needed a certain amount of cleanup, but this latest glitch makes the transcribed text almost impossible to work with. Needless to say this is very annoying, as I use the transcript feature a lot. I'd first like to say in advance, thank you to anyone who posts here and is willing to lend a hand. 2nd I'd like to make it clear automation has never worked for me. All the other messages I've seen here regarding automation have to do with the fact it has stopped working, or it partially works. It's never worked at all for me. All I'm trying to do is simple audio file conversion. I want everything converted to Mp3. I have the automation set, and when files are added, nothing happens. I've tried dragging files straight to desktop page, I've tried moving files in from the smart phone app, I've tried different browsers, same result. No, I haven't tried clearing browser cache, because never once in my life has that ever worked when it was suggested as a potential fix, so I don't bother with it. I've tried creating the same automation in different folders, I've tried creating a new folder with the automation enabled from the get-go. Nothing works. Just for experiments sake, I also tried to setup a different kind of automation to rename the files, to see what would happen. That doesn't work either. I am willing to clear browser cache if someone REALLY thinks that's the solution here. The only way I'm able to convert the files is manually. I'll right click the file and select "save as" -- "Mp3". I’d love to be able to add tags to each of my photos, while using the app. I’m a sports photographer and it would be great if I had the ability to quickly add a tag for each player the way I’m able to add comments to each photo. I can do it on my desktop, but that is also very clunky. There’s got to be an easier way to see a reasonably sized photo while adding a tag.
Feedback and issues with Dropbox client
This has to be one of the buggiest clients I have used. File management is terrible. Slow to rename, move folders and then the constant freezes of buttons and changes. Any tips on how to fix this? Using the browser version to organise files but I've had such a terrible experience with video file management, upload using File Transfer with incredibly slow and failing uploads. As soon as I have completed this project we certainly won't be coming back to Dropbox
Using AI to sort and search my photos
Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need. I have a Folder "Camera Uploads"with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder. Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) . So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do something
Linking file/directory structure to third-party apps
Dropbox to have a feature that could list the filenames in Excel/Google sheet/Words. To be more advanced, the filenames in the list can be directly linked to the files itself. Something like an Index. Each time a file is inserted/deleted into/from the dropbox folder, it will automatically update the list/index
Can I use the Dropbox AI to create smart folders and organize my files?
Hello, My Dropbox is a total mess -- like a pile of disorganized papers tossed all over the bed. Can anyone tell me please if Dropbox can use AI to sort files by file name and create "smart folders" for me? I need some help organizing and streamlining my "All Files". Thank you -
