374 TopicsI can't use Shift + delete for my folders due to new "delete for everyone" pop-up message.
I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else. Any ideas on how to fix this? I am trying to enable my users to upload files directly from their iPhones (Files apps) using a file request. When my users upload a single file (in response to clicking the file request link), they receive a confirmation message when complete. When they upload multiple files they receive no confirmation message. In both cases I, the account owner, receive messages indicating the users have submitted files, and the files are located the the correct DB folder associated with the file request. I am a paid user of Dropbox (I bought the 2TB plan some time back). Earlier when I would delete any file or folder on Dropbox using the Dropbox App on my Windows Laptop, it used to ask me if I wanted to delete the file/folder everywhere. Now it stopped doing that. Now the file or folder that I am deleting would just end up in my Windows Recycle Bin. I want to re-activate the "Do you want to delete everywhere". Hi Guys , Dropbox has been around for years now, I have been using One Drive Private Vault for many years - only reason I switched to Dropbox is because your Vault function is available on Mac Os - For the Love of God you have had so many users Ask you to create a option that allows the user to extend the timer before the vault just closes suddenly , while a user is still working a file! My Lord , all your developers need to do is create a popup banner saying " your vault is about to lock in 1 min ! you want to keep it open for another 5min, 10min or 20min or do you want to lock it right now!. This will most certainly keep many MS One Drive users from staying, What the heck is the issue and why haven't you given us this option yet . Hey Dropbox team! I know popup modals are all the rage on websites these days. You know where a user goes to a website, starts looking for a thing, and then BAM the most important thing that the marketing team wants them to see pops up and interrupts their flow? So today, I went to look for a file to fire off to a client and that happens to me...IN MY DROPBOX USER PORTAL (I have paid plan) midway through typing a word! How tacky is that? (hint: incredibly tacky). And to make things even wilder, when I was venting about this to Dropbox support (I know, no one over there listens or cares, but if I'm going to be distracted from a simple task, I should really go all out, right?), the support staff (who hadn't actually read my complaint) sent me to a help center article about email notifications (that's how I know they didn't read it). Before I could get a sentence into the topic, BOOM, another modal! This one asking me how satisfied I was with the help center. So I ask, is disrupting users from using the product somehow beneficial to business? Are you getting qualitative survey responses by posing the question before the user could possibly have formulated an answer? My suggestion: stop making my paid experience reel like some amateur-hour-free-tier garbage. NOTE: a thread already exists for this issue but was closed without a solution. I'm writing this here to reopen it. The Dropbox folder in my dock (Mac OS Sequoia) bounces every time a file is updated by dropbox Sync. When syncing hundreds of files, it will bounce constantly. When opening a cloud document (online-only document that is opened via the desktop file explorer and temporarily loaded onto the computer), it also bounces. This means that if I even use quick-look to preview a batch of images, my dropbox folder icon will bounce incessantly as it loads higher-resolution preview thumbnails. People have tried disabling this in terminal and it hasn't worked. I haven't personally tried the terminal method due to these reports, but I would prefer to manage this in the notifications preferences of Dropbox instead. Even with everything turned off on my notification preferences, it still bounces.1.9KViews0likes10Comments
