Good evening, I have tried many solutions suggested by this forum to get the result of having a copy of the files present on the cloud also on an external mac disk but without success (permissions, formatting the APFS drive encrypted and not, mac os extended). The disk where the operating system resides is 250GB and is not sufficient to also contain the dropbox files. currently my operating system is sequoia 15.3.2 si imac retina 5k 2020. do you have any solutions?36Views0likes5CommentsWhy does Dropbox for MacBook keep 'removing' itself?
Hi, Myself and multiple users in my organisation have an issue where the Dropbox installed App on our MacBooks 'removes itself. By this, I mean, Dropbox will still be installed, we can navigate VIA finder, however we are suddenly unable to open the files. When we navigate to Dropbox on the menubar, the icon has been removed, but the space for it is still there, when clicking it, it pulls up the Dropbox pop up as normal. When we go to share files we are presented with the options that can be seen below. What we have to do is redownload the Dropbox installer and reinstall Dropbox. When the install is done, we dont need to do anything else, no resyncing files etc. It picks up where it left off.. Really weird. This is happening for people on different versions of MacBooks, different versions of Dropbox etc. Any advise?191Views0likes18CommentsA Dropbox icon has replaced the Desktop and Documents icons on macOS
I have Dropbox latest client installed in MacOS. I don't use the Dropbox backup features for desktop or documents - however it has still taken over these icons in the Finder navigation bar. I've tried removing Dropbox, but as soon as I reinstall, the icons revert back. Does anyone know how to clear / prevent Dropbox from taking over these icons in the Finder navigation bar?77Views0likes11CommentsDropbox won't show me the option to make content "available offline".
have installed Dropbox on two MacBooks. On the first one, I can download folders and make them available offline. However, this isn't working on this MacBook Air. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox. Dropbox has full disk access on this laptop. What is going wrong, and how can I resolve this?403Views0likes25CommentsCan't preview photos in Dropbox folder when files are online-only
One of my team members updated to a new computer and now she cannot see any previews for photos that are online only. It is important for our workflow to see the image previews online only becausee we work with thousands of images in our catalogs. I am on an older Mac but both of us are on the same OS (15.3) and I can see previews no problem. Contacted DB support and they did not fix the issue. Tried a "hard reinstall" as supposed by DB support but did not work. They are not offering any other help which is very disappointing considering how many licenses we pay for. Anyone else able to fix this issue? Thanks in advance for your help!122Views0likes8CommentsFiles that I update on my Mac don't sync online.
In the last couple of weeks, local files that I work on are not syncing online. If they do, it is extremely slow. My internet is fine. I am on a Mac as well. I work synchronously with others on these files, so it's a bit concerning that they may not be working on my most recent versions. I have been using dropbox for over 8 years.45Views0likes5CommentsEnable create and rename folders/files on MacOS Dropbox application for admin users
After a recent dropbox update, at the top level, admin users are unable to create and rename files on their desktop dropbox application for Mac users (OS version: Sequoia 15.3.2). This slight change has made it more of a hassle to use the desktop app, it makes it appear obsolete to be honest. My team needs a number of folders to created frequently as we get new cases quite frequently. After the new update, as the admin user, I have to navigate to my web browser in order to create a folder and then come back to my desktop app to add all the relevant documents into that folder. If I make a mistake in the name of the folder, I can't change the name of the folder I have to go back to web browser, find the folder and then change it from there. It is such that even as an admin user on my computer, when I go to unlock the folder at the top level to give me read and write access, it automatically switches back as it is something that has been enabled from the software and not the user end. I could see the justification for having this restriction for non-admin users but for admin users whose job description requires the creation and modification of top level files, it has added an additional step in work flow that is cumbersome. In the past, all these could be done directly from the desktop app. I would like to request that the feature be put back as it was. The new change is not user friendly at all.43Views1like2Comments
