I have a new laptop (MacBook Air - M4), running the latest Sequoia. I migrated everything over from my former system, which included Dropbox. Day-1, all was running fine. Day-2, I needed to change the names of the System Users. I followed the instructions from Apple, which includes changing the home folder name in "Users" and then the corresponding account name field(s) in System Settings, Users & Groups, The home folder path on Day-1, with the original name, was /Users/keri_1/ On Day-2 -- after the renaming -- the new (& current) home folder path is /Users/keri/ Now when I launch DropBox, it is looking for this path to grant permissions: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox and immediately gives the message that "Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/keri_1/.dropbox" which it cannot find since that path name no longer exists. Clicking OK, the next message I get is "Couldn't start Dropbox" and it shuts down. How do I get DropBox to correct the path it is trying to use? I have contacted Support and we have exchanged several emails, including some Terminal commands to run, which did not correct this issue.Solved24Views0likes2CommentsDropbox won't show me the option to make content "available offline".
have installed Dropbox on two MacBooks. On the first one, I can download folders and make them available offline. However, this isn't working on this MacBook Air. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox. Dropbox has full disk access on this laptop. What is going wrong, and how can I resolve this?380Views0likes17CommentsI can't open the app, reinstalling doesn't work.
Salve, quando cerco di avviare l'app Dropbox su Mac mi compare il messaggio "Impossibile avviare Dropbox". L'app ha sempre funzionato sino a ieri. Cosa posso fare? Ho già provato a disinstallare e reinstallare il programma invano. Chiedo aiuto, grazie.Solved49Views0likes6CommentsHow to format an external SSD to APFS?
Hi, Dropbox Community. I want to move all my Dropbox folders and files to a new external SSD attached to my MacBook Pro (High Sierra 10.13.6). I had to use the “Disk Utility” on my Mac to erase the format type “MacOS Extended (Journaled)” because of the error “Unsupported File System.” Erase was successful. But, now I’m stuck. How do I format the external SSD to APFS? What are the steps? Thank you for your kind attention. I look forward to hearing from you.21Views0likes1CommentPlease revert the new screenshot "feature" on MacOS, or at least give us the option to do so.
Hi, can you PLEASE revert that new Screenshot "feature" you added in MacOS. Previously, it was possible to simply drag and drop a Screenshot into Finder or Photos right after it was taken. Now, your stupid popup shows up and drag and drop doesn't work. This worked PERFECTLY in the past and there was NO reason to touch this functionality. Why are you taking this feature away from us???83Views1like4CommentsA Dropbox icon has replaced the Desktop and Documents icons on macOS
I have Dropbox latest client installed in MacOS. I don't use the Dropbox backup features for desktop or documents - however it has still taken over these icons in the Finder navigation bar. I've tried removing Dropbox, but as soon as I reinstall, the icons revert back. Does anyone know how to clear / prevent Dropbox from taking over these icons in the Finder navigation bar?41Views0likes6CommentsOpen dropbox file/folder links open on desktop
Hi there. Love Dropbox. I moved our whole team to it from Google Drive much to all of our delight. The one hiccup that keeps coming up (was also an issue with Drive, but would be a game changing new feature from DB) is sharing links. Our team uses the desktop app to work with files directly in finder, but we share links to files and folders on slack and in email, etc... Right now we click a link, it opens the browser as expected, we find the file path in browser and then follow that path in finder. That seems like an awful lot of work when we have a direct connection between our finder and dropbox in the app. Perhaps the website could provide a link that connects to the desktop app, opening the folder/file in finder or windows explorer. Seems like a reasonable option to me, but what do others think?18Views0likes1CommentSearching for files in Finder in the Dropbox folder isn't working on Mac OS

Desktop Mac version of Dropbox stuck in this loop saying "Connecting Components..." and will not progress. Things I've tried: - Checking firewall. My firewall has been off and I don't turn it on, ever. - Auto Proxy is disabled. There are no proxies running. - I don't have a VPN on. - I've reinstalled Dropbox App twice. - I've rebooted after reinstall twice. - I've killed the app in Activity Monitor and rebooted as well. - I've ensured Full Disk Access to Dropbox as well as ensuring it's enabled in all other permissions. I don't understand what's going on. I've changed nothing and magically over the past couple days, Dropbox has just stopped working. Any ideas? Thank you!Solved93Views0likes5Comments"Copy Dropbox link" option not working on macOS Sequoia 15.1
I use a Basic version of Dropbox. The Quick Actions menu works on my MacBook Pro (2023) running Sonoma 14.7.1 but not on my other MacBook Pro (late 2023) running Sequoia 15.1. Share and Copy Dropbox link do nothing upon right clicks. I appreciate any help in solving this problem.1.1KViews1like40Comments
