Family Room icon is missing on Mac, and when viewed under Get Info, the icon flickers on and off. Have tried: - Turning folder off entirely via selective sync, then back on - Making folder online-only - Downloading entire folder Here's a link to a screen recording: link removed to avoid traffic.18Views0likes1CommentConfusion after migrating to Sequoia on new Mac
I just migrated my MacBook Pro running Sonoma to a Mac Mini M4 running Sequoia. The migrated Dropbox app wouldn't open so I trashed it and downloaded a new one. On the MacBook Pro my Dropbox appears under Locations. It appeared in the same place after migrating to the Mac mini, but when I logged into my DB account on the Mac mini, it created a Dropbox folder in Favourites. The one under Locations now says "This is an unlinked Dropbox." Can I now trash this? Is it right that DropBox is now a Favourite folder? The new Dropbox (in Favourites) is Online Only. This is a shared Dropbox and contains GBs of folders I don't need regular access to, but a couple that I do. As far as I can see I can only get these folders by downloading the whole Dropbox, which I really don't want to do. (And I don't want to use Selective Sync because I occasionally need a file from one of the folders that are Online Only.) I've been managing all this with Dropbox's Finder contextual menus, but they don't appear on the Mac mini. I don't know where the Dropbox Finder extension should appear in Sequoia, but it doesn't appear in System Setting>Extensions>Finder. In my account at Dropbox.com, Dropbox System Extension is enabled. Can you help me sort out this mess?40Views0likes10CommentsDropbox icon not displaying current files/folders when clicking on the Dropbox icon in the menu bar
Since the last few days, the Dropbox icon in the menu bar (MacOS) has stopped displaying files and folders. As soon as I type "files or folders" in the search bar, it displays all contents. Any changes I make (add / delete) are reflected when I use the search bar. I've tried various solutions suggested by Dropbox and other posts on the net, including uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works. Any assistance would be appreciated.31Views0likes5CommentsDropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder...
Mid-December, my Mac updated to the latest OS. macOS Sequoia 15.2 (24C101). Since then, Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/ ############/.dropbox every time I restart my Mac and a few times throughout the day. I have tried to check every permission possible to no avail. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox with admin privileges. Any ideas to resolve this small annoyance? Luckily, I managed to still be ineligible for macos on File Provider, and I would like to keep it that way. How do I make sure I do not become eligible and keep the ~/Dropbox location, in my home folder? I have set my default to Available Offline and choose Selective Sync for folders that should remain on Dropbox. Is that a successful configuration towards my goal? Are there any complexitiesI could add to make sure I'm the last one to become eligible? Uncountable things would break if I were to wake up to "your Dropbox folder is now in ~/Library/MobileSomething". Hi, I just migrated all of my documents from my old Macbook Air to my New Macbook Air. - This included my DropBox files that were on my old Macbook Air, that are syncing with my Dropbox Account in the cloud. On my new Macbook Air, it is now asking me if: I would like to start syncing the Dropbox App. - If I say Yes, will I get duplicated files on my new MacBook Air (as I already have the files on my new MacBook Air? So appreciate any guidance/help that you can give. Thanks, MarionSolved28Views0likes3CommentsOn Mac Sequoia, my Finder does not find Dropbox files.
Hi everyone! On my Mac I have a Dropbox folder which is automatically synchronized with my Dropbox online. I move may files from my Mac into that folder. I see the files in my Mac's Dropbox folder, and I know they are also in Dropbox in the cloud. The problem is that when I search in the Mac's finder, I cannot find the files. I can find them when I search via the menu bar app icon and find the files that way, but it's not convenient, I have to then select "show in finder". Before I could search in the finder directly for the files and the Finder would find the files in the Dropbox folder. What has changed? Why can't my Finder find files which are in my Mac's Dropbox folder?24Views0likes2Comments"Make available offline" option is not working on folder level on Mac OS Sequoia 15.1.1
