Why did the "request files" option get removed from the right-click options in the Dropbox folder?
Can someone provide some sort of explanation why the (Dropbox) 'Request files' function has disappeared from the drop-down menu (Mac). The function is still possible, but now it is buried away and (as far as I can establish) only accessible via a browser. This really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If anyone could enlighten me about this "develpoment" I would be very grateful. Thank you
How can my clients comment on a file when they are uploading using a file request link?
I am setting up a system for my clients to be able to upload files using a file request link but I can't find a way for them to be able to comment on the files. Once they click upload, they no longer have access to the file and most don't have a Dropbox account. If it's not possible, I would suggest that it be submitted as an idea to improve Dropbox.
Can't upload material to a link from someone else's account?
I'm trying to upload 1.5tb of data to a link on someone else's account. They have expanded their data quota to allow for this much data, however the dropbox upload keeps failing at my end. the 1.5TB of data is a collection of raw video media (so it's several hundred thousand files within a series of folders) When I tried to upload this via Apple Safari, the upload repeatedly stopped. I was uploading by loading the URL for the upload link to my friend's dropbox account, and then either dragging & dropping the files onto the upload link or using the folder hierarchy to navigate through the folders to select the material from an external hard drive. I've tried swapping to using Google Chrome for the upload, and now the upload link is asking for my name & email address (as per image below). this link wasn't asking for this information on the Safari web page; why am I being asked to submit my name & email? I've tried putting in my name & email address on the google page Further, the google chrome link doesn't appear to be working either
Please allow us to create file requests from the desktop app's context menu again.
Before the updates in the past several months I was able to click on a folder in dropbox and create a link to request files easily. That feature is now gone and I have to not only log into the web dropbox but I have to drill down to the folder each time I want to create the link. This is cumbersome since I have hundreds of client folders and need change the path for each new client. On top of that the website doesn't offer a quick search for a file in the File Request. Meaning I have to manually click on the main folder and find the client folder down the tree of folders. Please for the love of god return the feature.
When I upload files to Dropbox the order of the words in the file names is changed
When I upload files to Dropbox, the order of the words in the file names keep being changed. For instance, John Smith.jpg becomes Smith John.jpg and 12 John Smith.jpg becomes 12 Smith John.jpg. The order of the words keeps changing. I tried to prevent it by inserting hyphens between words, but it doesn't work. They still move around. I suspect maybe my first name always moves at the back but I am not sure. Often I am requested to title files in a certain way and Dropbox just changes the names no matter how I title them. This is problematic. Please help.Can my team receive a file request email when a document is added to a shared folder?
Hello, I shared a folder with my team and want them to receive email notifications. Everyone has access to the folder, but no one is receiving email notifications. I checked their notification settings, and all the boxes are checked just like mine (I, as the owner, receive notifications). What is the next step I should check for?
