1277 Topics3 months after subscription cancelation, all my files were uploaded and I cannot retrieve them.
I have a Mac. I have canceled my subscription to DropBox a few months ago, but I left my files in the dropbox folder. A few days ago, all the files were uploaded and are not available offline anymore and they do not seem to download, how can I retrieve them offline? On top of that, I get this message that my files represent nineteen hundred time my limit and that my files may be deleted. But I never asked for them to be all sucked online in the first place. This is distressing. Help would be very welcome, thanks,14Views0likes1CommentLarge downloads keep failing on the Dropbox website.
Consistently, regardless of browser, larger downloads keep failling just as they're nearly finished. I try to restart them, but they start right from the beginning again. My internet speeds are fine, so it's not that. I've cleared cache and cookies and tried Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. I saw this same issue in another post that was solved, but that was from 8 years ago and the solution no longer applies. Will the owner know if I download a file they shared through a link?
Someone shares a PDF file using the link. I clicked the link, and I was asked to register a Dropbox account to download the file. I am using my personal email to register this software. But I don't want the owner to know that it is me that have downloaded the file. I am concerned if the owner will know who is downloading their sharing files. What information is shared to the file owner when I download it? I am really new to this software thank you!22Views1like1CommentProblems downloading shared links on iPhones
I am trying to share some folders with photos with a number of non-dropbox users. But there seems to be a problem with download. I have set a link for viewing as follows: Anyone with the link can access. Expiration date: 1 day. Required password: On. Disable download: Off. I shared the link with a user for testing. The URL appears to be working. The password is requested. Upon entering the password the user gets access to the folder and can see the pictures in the subfolders. However, when the user taps download on the screen on the phone, nothing happens. When trying to dowload the entire folder, a message telling the user that download will begin shortly appears, but nothing happens. I tested the URL on in Chrome in incognitive mode on an Android and confirmed that download works as expected. What am I doing wrong here?41Views0likes3CommentsFile date changing
Hi I have seen a number of posts about DropBox changing file dates to "date modified" which appears to be the date the file was uploaded to DropBox. This is weird because if you are just uploading and downloading files from one computer to another you want the original date to be retained. The date of the uploading is mostly irrelevant. For searching based on date the file was created/last edited is what I need to maintain my records by date created/edited. This happens when I use the app of the web and add files to a DropBox folder the date it was added is saved as the modified date. It gets stranger because when I download to another computer I can restore the original file date if SmartSync is on and set to local but this worked for Excel files but not for PDFs! BTW I am using Windows 10 on both computers. I could not work out behaviour from previous posts. thanks for any help3.5KViews1like8CommentsVideo freezing when trying to preview.
I have downloaded longer videos from a dropbox folder, and a few minutes in, the video freezes. At first I thought it was because of the editing software I was using, but changing it didn't help anything. I contacted the sender of the videos, and they confirmed that the videos got fully uploaded. So that must not be the issue. What could be causing29Views0likes2Comments
