1. Drop box sent me an email notifying me of updates to a folder previously shared with me. See it: 2. When I clicked one of the links to view it, the Link took me to Drop Box's login/sign-up page: 3. I put in my Dropbox email (the email where DropBox sent me a notification, mentioned in my first sentence). I clicked "continue" and Dropbox revealed input fields for my first name, last name, password, etc... I realized the input fields were not typical for a login. Therefore, I tried unsuccessfully to find a true login page. Each time I found a "login" page, DropBox wanted me to "Sign up" So, I thought I must have to fill in the input fields to login. 4. I entered my name, etc., When I got to the "enter a password" field, I tried entering mine. It would not allow my password because DropBox now requires a special character. When my account was originally made, I didn't have to use a special character. The rules have changed. So, I added a special character to my original password. Basically, i went through the process of creating a new Dropbox account using an email to a previous account. DropBox did not recognize that my email was connected to an account. Instead, DropBox purged my original account anf gave me a new new account. All my stuff is gone. I believe the technical issue is that my old password did not use a "special character." DropBox now requires a special character in the password (they didn't when I originally created my account. And, this may have caused a problem with DropBox recognizing my email. Hence, DropBox made me sign in all over again and purge my original account. 5. The links in the Dropbox email no longer take me to the login page. Instead, I get this: Can you solve this issue and restore my original account?34Views0likes3CommentsAccidentally deleted account. Can it be restored?
Hello. Yesterday, my dad's dropbox account was deleted by accident. It has been less than 24 hours, and please if anyone knows how to restore his account, please help. He's 75 years old, and all of his life's work was on his dropbox. We don't know how it happened, We were just trying to cancel his subscription. Please if anyone knows if it's possible, help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much30Views0likes5CommentsMy account was deleted after being removed from a Dropbox team
My business dropbox account was deleted after being removed from a team. Need to recover the account and all the files. Don't understand how the account was deleted after following the steps to be removed from a team? I've been trying to delete my account. I've never used this account since I first opened it a month or two ago. Today, I followed the instructions, entered my password (it doesn't provide a place to enter my ID) but a message says that my User ID & password do not match. So I go into my account and change my user id AND my password. I'm thinking it's gonna work now, finally! But I try it again and it still tells me my USER ID/Password doesn't match. Why does it tell me that when it doesn't even give me an option to enter a User ID? I was using the same password I used when it set it up only a few months ago. Since I'm already logged in, I go into my account and change BOTH my User ID and my Password. That should fix it, right? NOPE. It still tells me the User ID and Password do not match. I've been trying to get this account deleted for days. When I communicated with Dropbox by email to ask them to delete it, they told me I have to delete it myself. WTH?? I've tried everything now. Why can't I get this stupid account off of my Desktop PC?754Views0likes10Comments
