This issue has been reported previously on the following link but is now closed to any further responses. This is an important feature that has been removed without notice or explanation. I have tried to post the hyperlink to the previous discussion, but you are not allowing this either. Please provide an update. Regards Robert45Views1like2CommentsHow to return all files to offline?
I was having sync troubles so to save hard drive space I went to App/Preferences/Manage and selected all to be online. According to the app “…saves hard drive space. Files will still appear on your computer…”. But now the list is empty, and I can't figure how to return them to offline. Dropbox is not behaving according to your help files. All files sync but the online/offline/sync icons are not working, all files are either completely on my computer or not. (Backup works ok, the files sync but are completely on my computer - but that's how Backup works.) I have tried: Fresh install - restart - force quit in Activity Monitor - restarted Finder - no solution.65Views0likes19CommentsCan't open Dropbox on new macOS Sequoia 15.2 - it does't respond and closes
I've downloaded the latest Software version for Mac Os. I Install, and try to open from apps and then menu bar. Dropbox does not respond then closes. Tried a complete uninstall reinstall and same thing. Any solutions?71Views0likes8CommentsDropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder...
Mid-December, my Mac updated to the latest OS. macOS Sequoia 15.2 (24C101). Since then, Dropbox needs to change permissions for the Folder: /Users/ ############/.dropbox every time I restart my Mac and a few times throughout the day. I have tried to check every permission possible to no avail. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox with admin privileges. Any ideas to resolve this small annoyance? I was prompted to update my Dropbox folder settings some time ago to the ~/Library/CloudStorage path to properly function with the Apple API settings. This worked fine. However, I have recently begun using a new Mac Mini and Dropbox on that computer remains installed in the Users directory. In the Dropbox settings, I am told: "You are not eligible for the new Dropbox for macOS on File Provider at this time. Your Dropbox folder contains some file types that are not supported." This creates an obvious problem, because I have a Dropbox with two different directories (one that goes through /CloudStorage and one that goes through /Users), creating a lot of problems when I try to load files across computers. I am running the same OS on both computers. But more problematically, I am unsure how my Dropbox folder could contain file types that are not supported by the new Dropbox one on computer but not on the other. Has anybody been through something like this?42Views0likes9CommentsIs it possible to have the directory of files visible locally, without downloading them?
I have a new computer and want all my Dropbox files online only (10TB). Is there a way to have the directory of files visible locally without downloading all files? My old desktop was set up to show all the online-only files so if I needed them I could download easily. I could just sync everything and then manually set the folders to online only but this seems like a lot of work just to get a local directory.25Views0likes2CommentsMicrosoft Teams integration loses login connection every other day
The new Microsoft Teams integration is great; we can now open shared links directly on the Desktop via the native app, which is a great time saver. Only bug for the integration is that users have to login to Dropbox via Teams every other day. It loses the login authorization and the 'open file in app' function is then not available anymore. Users need to login everyday in to Dropbox via Teams to make it work again.39Views0likes2CommentsLocal hard drive size does not change after moving 160Gb folders online only
Macbook Pro 16" M4 Max 64Gb/4Tb, Mac OS Sequoia 15.1 I have made 160Gb total size folders online only to free up disk space, Dropbox sync shows "your files are up to date", folder sizes have instantly gone down to zero or close to zero on Mac finder but total disk space has not changed a bit. Any idea? I must say I've had quite many syncing problems with the Dropbox lately and am a bit concerned about its reliability.49Views0likes12CommentsDropbox Sync Time Remaining Isn't Showing on macOS
OS and Version: macOS Sequoia 15.2 (issue persists from earlier versions) Dropbox Version: Latest update as of today. Dropbox business customer. I’m encountering an issue with Dropbox for macOS using File Provider. When downloading files, the sync time remaining is never displayed. This makes it challenging to gauge how long the process will take, leading to a frustrating user experience. This issue has been ongoing for quite some time, spanning multiple macOS and Dropbox versions, so it doesn’t appear to be tied exclusively to the latest update. Others at my company are also having the same issue. I am regularly syncing a large amount of files as I run a video production company, often times up to 2 TB or so. Steps to Reproduce: Attempt to download files through Dropbox for macOS (File Provider). Observe that there’s no visible indication of sync time remaining. Expected Behavior: The sync time remaining should be displayed, allowing users to estimate when downloads will complete. Actual Behavior: The sync time is not shown, leaving users without any progress estimation. Additional Notes: Here's an image of the issue.16Views0likes2CommentsThe operation can't be completed because ".Trash" needs to be downloaded
I see the above error when I try to delete a file in my Dropbox folder. But there is no such (hidden) file or folder in my Dropbox that I could download. And there seem to be no sync issues. Does anyone have an idea what might be going on? macOS 11.7.10 Dropbox v213.4.4597 Best wishes, Daniel26Views0likes5Comments
