Android OS: Share>Upload to Dropbox>'Choose upload location': That dialog window does not show the name/path of the destination folder it is displayingto the user. Often this forces the user to tap 'back' several times to see what node of the folder tree the app will send the file(s) to. If the user hasn't done a recent 'Share>Add to Dropbox' operation, they have no memory of what the last destination folder path was. Please help the user know right away the name/path if the default destination folder. Thank you. P.S. I wish this feedback system would allow for screenshots to be uploaded.777Views2likes13CommentsDownload progress/status bar when using the mobile app on Android
When using the mobile app, it would be great to have a download notification/progress bar. I usually download videos which take a minute or two to download but, I am sat waiting until I see the 'Exported' notification pop up. Hi, I have a free dropbox account and have used it for years to store a few basic excel spreadsheets that I use daily. I have a paid Microsoft 365 account that I use on my android phone and lenovo laptop. For some reason the last few days, I am unable to open my dropbox excel spreadsheets on my phone. When I try to open the spreadsheet I get a log in page saying "Log in or sign up to Dropbox to link with Microsoft Office Integration". I log in using my dropbox user and pw and it just sends me to my onedrive. I have tried deleting the dropbox and 365 apps on my phone and re installing and logging in. I have tried to open the dropbox files by going into excel first and then trying to open the dropbox spreadsheet. Just always sends me to the log in page. It all works fine on my laptop, and after saving, my dropbox android app shows the newly updated spreadsheet. Dont know what has happened. Please help.7KViews2likes27CommentsMy Word files are not getting saved to Dropbox on Android
Greetings to the Community, I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have been experiencing with the Microsoft Word app on my Android tablet in conjunction with Dropbox. Previously, I was able to seamlessly save my Word documents to my Dropbox account by selecting "Save As" and choosing the Dropbox folder. However, for the past month, this process has ceased to function. Despite diligently following the same steps as before, my saved documents are no longer appearing in the Dropbox app, Dropbox Web, or my Dropbox desktop application on my laptop. Essentially, my work is not being uploaded to Dropbox. I kindly request your assistance in resolving this matter. Your expertise in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your attention to this issue. Sincerely, Joseph2KViews0likes18CommentsRead-only file, only on Dropbox for Android (!)
One file, docx., in a Dropbox directory - and only that file - appears as "only-read file" when I open it in Dropbox app for Android. Instead I can modify it without problems when I use the app on Windows 10 PC. I have copied the file from Dropbox to my PC, deleted it on Dropbox and uploaded it again: nothing changed. I reinstalled Dropbox on my Android tablet, no way. Others similar files in the game directory of Dropbox work perfectly. Can you help me, please? Thanks.Solved4.2KViews0likes22CommentsCan I selectively sync certain folders on the Dropbox app on Android?
Hello, while it's very clear to me how to apply the selective synchronization on PC, I don't know how to apply it on Android. I have an old tablet and I'd like to synchronize only one folder in it. I didn't find the procedure. How can I do it? Thank you, LiciarovSolved485Views0likes3CommentsMemory leak in the mobile app on Android
Hi, I am using dropbox an various devices (Windows, Mac, iOS, iPadOS and Android). I prefer to keep all contents offline available, so I activated these options. Right now, there is around 16 GB of data kept in my dropbox space. I rarely delete files. In most cases, existing files are updated or some new files are added. There's no problem on Windows, Mac, and Apple mobile devices. On iPhone and iPad, the app needs about 17,x GB memory, that sounds okay. When updating or changing files, the memory consumption on iPhone and iPad changes as expected, depending on the changed files. However, this isn't the case an Android devices. Here, the memory consumption keeps growing and growing. I made a test, at the same time I deleted and re-installed the apps both an Apple and Android devices from scratch. Downloaded all files again and made them available offline. After some weeks, memory consumption on the Apple devices is rather constant and within an expected range, still around 17.x GB. While on my Android tablet, the app uses 28 GB. And on my Android phone, it needs 22 GB. Is this a known issue? Why does the Dropbox Android App need so much more memory, and why is it growing and growing? My only solution is, to clear and re-install the apps everyone 1-2 months.594Views0likes13Comments
