Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, and apparently dropbox changed from program to "app" (hate them vs. full programs), every time I shut down my computer, it sits and waits for a half minute or more for something called Sprig Electron View, and finally shuts down. Apparently this has something to do with dropbox. If I manually quit dropbox before shutting down, then shutdown works almost instantly. I want that instantly. So, what is this program, can I remove it and still use dropbox, if so, how. Or how do I get it to stop holding up the shutdown command? Thanks.12KViews4likes9CommentsI'm unable to open Dropbox files on Windows Explorer due to OneDrive brown box icon.
Certain Dropbox files showing on my desktop cannot be opened from Windows Explorer. These files have a little brown overlay on the file icon. Dropbox support tells me this overlay is a One Drive icon and this may be causing a conflict with Dropbox. How can I resolve this (I don't use One Drive, although it is installed on my device).552Views0likes6CommentsDropbox keeps going back to the top of the folder when scrolling via VoiceOver on iOS 18.
I am a user who happens to be blind, using VoiceOver, the screen reader for my iPhone 15 Pro. I am using the latest version of dropbox updated six days ago as of October 14. When I am in a long list of files and I touch my screen, I am able to use the usual scrolling gestures. However, when I touch the screen again after scrolling several pages of a folder, focus is lost and jumps back to the first item in the folder, several screens up. This jumping of focus does not happen in other Apps on my phone, notably mail where I have 100 or so messages in my inbox. I am running iOS 18.0.1. I do hope this issue can be addressed and fixed because I use Dropbox a lot and love it! It is a major disruption of my workflow to have the focus jump around so much that I can barely locate a file that I need and when I find it, the focus may jump to a screen much farther up from the one I'm working on. Thanks.Solved606Views0likes5CommentsLogic Pro X projects stored in Dropbox don't show up in "Recent"
Hi all, this is a niche issue and probably not Dropbox's "fault", but thought I'd ask here just in case. Since I upgraded to the latest version of Dropbox for Mac (which moved the folder location, etc.),Logic Pro X projects stored in Dropbox no longer show up in File > Open Recent or in the Recent tab of Logic's startup window. The same thing was already happening with Google Drive for Desktop, so I would guess it's a general issue with the File Provider API.However, projects stored in iCloud Drivedoshow up in Recent. Other Apple apps (TextEdit, Pages) will show files from Dropbox in the Open Recent menu.(And Dropbox-stored Logic projects do show up inRecent Items under the top-left Apple menu.) Making the folders available offline doesn't help. Running Logic 10.7.6 in Ventura 13.1 on an M1 MacBook Pro. Any ideas?Solved14KViews2likes97CommentsMy ebooks don't sync to my pocketbook Dropbox folder.
I used to be able to synchronise ebooks from dropbox on my phone to dropbox on my pocketbook. Starting from yesterday is doesn't work anymore. De pocketbook folder on my phone contains an ebook. But the folder on my pocketbook remains empty, after several times of synchronising. I have tried logging of my dropbox account on my pocketbook and starting again. But nothing helps.308Views0likes4CommentsI enabled OneDrive backup and my Dropbox folder has been moved to their cloud.
In a moment of thoughtless, I foolishly allowed OneDrive to backup my computer. Now, nothing is where it should be. Lost disturbingly, the contents of Dropbox seemes to be subsumed into a OneDrive folder, my familiar Dropbox has disappeared and I cannot find an icon to Dropbox anywhere. I should like to regain control of my Dropbox folder at least. What can I do? Clearly, I should not have sanctioned OneDrive to backup - it seems a terrible mistake. What also worries me is that I might lose my files and all my hard work. Does anyone have a remedy? I am at wits end. Thank youSolved354Views0likes2CommentsCan I create an alias for my Dropbox folder on macOS?
How do I create a Dropbox folder alias in my base username directory on my Mac Mini (Sonoma MacOs)? My Dropbox folder exists as /Users/[my user name]/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox. I am starting out using GnuCash (Personal Finance App) and am trying to save the GnuCash data file to DropBox but can’t see DropBox when I click “SaveAs” button in GnuCash; all I see are locations on the local computer. When I go to Finder I do see DropBox. To save the data file to DropBox when I can’t see DropBox when I click “SaveAs” button I have been advised to create a Dropbox folder alias in my base username directory on my Mac Mini (Sonoma MacOs)587Views0likes3CommentsNative files.app integration is buggy, doesn’t sync
Steps: 1. Install Dropbox on iOS 2. The native files.app integration is enabled by default 3. Set a folder to be available offline in the Dropbox app 4. Wait for the folder to sync 5. On another device create a file in the folder Expected: The file is synced to the mobile Dropbox app and the native files.app Actual: The file does not sync to the native files.app. You need to manually go and refresh to make that file sync. The problem this causes is when third party apps (like iawriter) try to use files synced by Dropbox, new files are missing. When edits are made to files that show up they always cause conflicts.514Views0likes3CommentsWish I could use Dropbox on my Android 7 and also open my third-party app files via the website
Would be nice to have access to the previous version and install it and of course accept less latest functions. It would have been nice with a warning before so I could have disabled automatic updates! Alternatively it would be very convenient if - like in the app - after logging in to the Dropbox website via Chrome one can choose which app already installed on the unit to open the file with. Example: in a Dropbox folder I have some *.ost files used with the app OpenSongapp. This I can choose in the app but not via your website. Please enable, thanks605Views0likes4CommentsAutomatically Open Excel Doc in MS Excel in Dropbox
I have uploaded an Excel file that I will only update in Dropbox using MS Office Online. When I open the file I am forced to choose the app Excel from a dropdown menu. Is there a way to tell Dropbox that when I double click on the file to do so directly in MS Excel? Thanks in advanceSolved2KViews0likes4Comments
