SELECTING MULTIPLE STARRED FILES

SELECTING MULTIPLE STARRED FILES

Hi, Can anyone help with a shortcut to selecting multiple starred files?

I have over 300 starred photo files I'm trying to download.

There's got to be a better way than clicking all those files; plus the star feature is touchy--if you click on the wrong area it will deselect everything and then I have to start over.

Thank you for your expertise and help!!

Hi @porchbaby, and welcome aboard the Community!

What you can do is go to your Photos page on www.dropbox.com and then, click on the Starred column there; all of your starred photos should appear.

If you have many images for each year, you can also select the “Year” option from the menu, and click on the small checkboxes above each year’s photos. That should select all of them and you can then, download them in bulk.

I hope that makes sense, but I’m here if you need to ask me something.

Hi everyone,

I have all my photos on Dropbox, folders sorted per year, then months.

The best have been "starred".

I'd like to download all the best photos from a specific year, or month. However, it seems that from the "Photos" menu I do not get all the starred ones, but just a part of them.

It appears from all the browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) under Windows.

From the mobile app, all the starred files are correctly displayed ...

Since the last new features/Dropbox layout, we have 2 new buttons on each folders: recent/starred. That would have helped me, however, it seems old starred files are not identified ...

Do you get the same behavior?

Were you able to solve it?

Many thanks in advance,

Maxime

Hi Nancy,

coming back with this solution a few months later because that works  bit only for me ... I do not see all the starred files ... as there was a missing identification / refresh.

Do you know any way to "re-index" all the starred files?

Many thanks for your attention,

Maxime

Hi @Maxime Coevoet, sorry to hear about that!

Would it be too much of a trouble if you could attach here some screenshots of your starred content, as shown in the mobile app, and some as shown on the web?

When did this behavior start happening?

Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan,

thank you for coming back to my questions!

Here are some screenshots:

1. In a specific folder, you can see starred files:

2. The same folder, "Favoris" selected, no files:

3. Here is the screen of "January 2020", same period of time I made the screen shots:

Is there a limit of "starred" files we can select? Then to be displayed: any "cache issue"?

Many thanks,

Maxime

Hey Maxime! On your mobile app, I’d like you to tap on the small button with the 3 horizontal lines, right next to the upward arrow, at the top part of your Dropbox app.

After that, please make sure you’ve selected your Starred items from the menu. Can you see all of them now perhaps?

Hi Nancy,

thanks for coming back. The screenshot you see is already a filter view (through the upper roght button) on the starred files on my Android phone.

Does that help?

Maxime

Hey Maxime! Can you please tap on the icon again, and send me a screenshot of the filters you’ve selected? I’d like to gather as much info as possible, and see if there’s something else we can try.
