How to reopen an old Dropbox link and download the files from it?

How to reopen an old Dropbox link and download the files from it?

Hi! I have an old link for a dropbox that I received years ago, but it doesn't work anymore. Is there anyway I can retrieve the files that were in there (there were photos that were sent to me by a photographer who I paid, so I'm guessing she has deleted the photos from her device since then) and back then I did not know we could download the files. Is there anyway I can reopen and redownload the link?

Hi @Nic0093, thanks for messaging today!

Shared links, as you're aware, contain files that were located on the owner's account, and can be deleted by the owner.

There isn't a way for anyone else, other than the owner, to recover the files within the link. You could try contacting the photographer to see if they can restore the files, if it's within the recovery period.

Afterwards, they could share that link to you again, since it might require a new link, so that you can download it to your machine.

If you need any more details, feel free to message back!
