Excel links don't open with left click

Excel links don't open with left click

Hello,

Links on Excel don't open with left click but if I right click the link and select open in a new tab or window it works.

I have an Excel xlsx and a pdf file stored in the same folder in Dropbox. I copied the Dropbox link of pdf file and make a link in the Excel file. When i use the link of the folder to share, it opens the folder, I can see files and open them. When I open the Excel file on browser I can see the link, but left clicking doesn't work. I can see the URL of the file is there and I can copy the link or right click it but left click simply doesn't do anything at all. As far as I can remember, left clicking used to open the file in a new tab on browser. I tried doing this both in my Dropbox Basic and a Dropbox Business account.

Am I doing something wrong or has something changed?

Thanks in advance,

Melih.

I dont think Dropbox web has the same functionality as the software on the computers.

If the link on the page is correct (i.e. if you copy and paste it and put it in to a browser and it opens then Dropbox's side works). Same if it works in the desktop software on another machine.

Note, you need to have made a LINK to the file, not just a URL from the folder: https://help.dropbox.com/share/create-and-share-link

This issue might be related to your browser's settings or how the links are formatted in the Excel file. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check Browser Settings:

Excel Hyperlink Formatting:

File Permissions:
structural engineer sutherland shire:

File Extension:

Browser Extensions:

Dropbox Sharing Settings:

Test on Different Devices:

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with the hyperlinks not opening in your Excel file when left-clicked in a web browser.

I already tried different browser on different devices including mac and windows computers, android and ios devices. The result is the same. I slimply copy the link of the file to excel and I can open the link on Microsoft Excel. But it doesn't work Dropbox web interface. Can someone please at least try doing the same thing and tell me what i am doing wrong?

When i open the excel file on dropbox web interface left click doesn't work, but if i open the excel file on Excel for the web interface left click works. There is someting wrong the Dropbox interface.
