I joined Dropbox when it was new, and there was a promotion where they would grant you 2GB more storage for every person you got to sign up. I had 12GB of storage at one point, and now suddenly, I only have 2GB. What the hell happened to the rest of the storage???

Hi @leontovich1, thanks for messaging the Community!

Could you check this page to see how much quota you have on your account?

This will help me to assist further!

Yeah, this is the strange thing. Quote page says: Using 10.6 GB of 13.25 GB  .. but I keep getting emails telling me that my 2G of storage is maxed out.  ??

To be more clear /confusing, it says:

2 GB of storage to help you store and share files.

Thanks for the info, it sounds like you're nearing the quota limit on your account, and the email was sent out to inform you of this.

The email doesn't show the exact amount of quota on your account, however, the site will show this information correctly.

As mentioned previously, the email communication doesn't know of the total amount of quota on your account.

As you're still under quota from what you've described, you can ignore those email messages.

Thanks for the clarification. As a developer, I can easily see how checks could be written into the process to prevent unnecessary and confusing emails from being sent out. Just sayin...
