Need help after deleting my dropbox backup

Hello! I successfully turned off and deleted my Dropbox backup. It is no longer listed on my backups page. However, my storage space is still showing a yuuuge number. As if the backup is still taking up the space. I deleted it today. Should I expect a delay in the space being reallocated to my account? Is there another I way to recover the space?

I figured out a homegrown solution after support let me know Engineering is working on the issue, and would get back to me. Here is the way I deleted a phantom backup:

I figured it out!!!

Had to navigate to:

Dropbox.com/backups/PC (The old backup that was no longer listed in my backups list, but it was the first backup I did, and hence was simply named “PC”)

All my phantom files were there to be deleted

Good luck @eslar and @Megan

Hi @hannahjayne, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Does the backup appear on the site directly, and is it possible to delete it again from there?

Keep me updated with any progress!

Hi @Jay ! Thanks for the tip. That backup page is empty. It says: All your backups one easy place.

Still my usage is: 44.51GB out of 11.38 GB space

It’s weird, eh?

It does not show up. I cannot remove it. It is stuck in my account and taking up 46.26 Gb. I know this because there are 0 bytes of anything else in my Dropbox. Any ideas?

Hi Megan,

I think I might be facing the same issue (I made another post thinking my issue was unique compared to other posts about storage). Could you let me know if you find a solution to this problem as well? Thanks!
