My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't

Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.

Hey @RolliezSez, apart from your backups page that Rich suggested, make sure to also check if you have any shared folders, because those also take up space in your account.

I hope this helps!

Hello all - this morning my Dropbox is saying it's full, over the 2GB of storage.  It shows my backups are 3.6GB, but I don't have backups turned on, and therefore can't search and delete.  I have never had them turned on.  My regular and shared files only comprise ~105MB at the moment.  How can I resolve?

Thanks!

You must have at some point, or you opted to back up an external drive when you plugged it in. Check your Backups page.

I have used dropbox for years.  I only have a few small files.  I was told had to upgrade for more storage and now have to pay $119.00 annually.  I don't want to do this.  What is my recourse? Thanki you Connie Burghardt

What does it show for your actual usage on your Plan page?

Mac v. 12.6.7. Dropbox says storage is full, but I removed all my files from DB, I deleted the app from my computer, waited a week, reloaded DB app. Still says storage full. How can I 'reset' DB or something, so it 'sees' my storage is not full?

Mac user. On desk top app. I paused sync to indefinite since I supposedly don't have storage room, which I do have. I moved all my files out of Dropbox. It is empty. I supposedly still don't have room - need to upgrade. not true.  I deleted the app, waited a week, downloaded the app again - say problem. Restarted computer, same issue.  Maybe the "waiting to sync" line up has something to do with that.  I don't want to sync anything. How can I delete the queue of files waiting to sync? Please help.

Can you also visit this page and this page, and send us a screenshot of what you see there, as well?

Some years back I was working for a sound editing company that, being composed of people from all around the world, syncronized all files using Dropbox. They had dropbox pro versions ofc and in order to access the files I had to work on, they invited me in theirs.

From that moment onward Dropbox has been HELL for me, I couldn't use it anymore even after I was removed from the project after we've finished it all. I deleted dropbox desktop, reinstalled, emptied all the files, no matter how I check I have no files on dropbox but still, it signal that I have 286GB of data and I cannot use the service.

Tons of emails, warnings and so on.. while the simple truth is: I never had data in my dropbox, I merely downloaded from someone else dropbox, even now that I re-downloaded dropbox desktop precisely to be sure it has no single file inside, I can't find any way to solve this issue and I'm really getting fed up with the constant notifications.

Please someone help >.>
