Storage Space
Looking for help with managing the storage space in your Dropbox account? Talk to the Dropbox Community and get advice from members.
I've recently started getting a "You're out of storage. To copy this content you need more storage space." message when I try to save files from a browser (either Chrome or FF) directly to my Dropbox. I've got the free 2gig account and all indicators (both through Windows explorer and my account on Dropbox) - show that I'm only taking up 378.7 meg of storage. I just double-checked my backups and I have none (neither visible nor hidden/deleted).
I can still save the file 467k .pdf locally and then upload it to my Db through explorer without issue, so I can confirm that I truly do have enough room.
Any thoughts?
Hey @zlig, can you send us a screenshot of the prompt you're getting to upgrade as well?

Sure screenshot attached. Thank you.
For the record I was able to create the folder myself and share with my colleagues.
Hi @swag, first of all thanks for all the patience you've shown, and keep in mind that what we want to do on our end, is help you get to the bottom of this.
Therefore, I think it's a good idea that we switch to email in order for us to gather some additional info, and have some more visibility to this, in order to investigate.
Would that be okay?

Thanks for that, @zlig!
Can we actually send you an email, so we can look into this internally?

According to the Subscriptions page on my profile, I'm using 2.2 GB of 10.88 GB (see screenshot below)
I have the free basic plan but have additional disk space from free allotments for different things in the past.
I'm trying to join a folder that is 1GB in size and am seeing the error "You're out of storage".
Can someone check my account so I can use the disk space?
Hi @mediagirlnm, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you certain that you're trying to join the folder from this account?
Could you attach a screenshot showing the error you're getting, while hiding the name of the folder?
This will help me to assist further!
