I am thinking about securing 2 TB of storage from dropbox. I currently have only 200 GB from the Apple iCloud being not tech savvy is a difficult to back up my entire cell phone to dropbox as opposed to Apple iCloud.

Hi @Poppop, thanks for messaging the Community!

When you say you want to backup your entire phone, what exactly do you want to backup?

Are you referring to all your images and videos, or do you also want to backup apps, settings and anything else on your device?

This will help me to assist further!

Thank you for the message! “Back up” is probably the wrong terminology. Rather,
I want to offload and then store: 1. my text messages and the pictures in many of those messages. 2. My 8000 photos and videos. Those are eating up the vast majority of my storage to the point where I can’t back up my phone. Literally have all or most off my phone but available.
Then, my iPhone with 128 gig and associated ICloud will not be limited, amd I will be able to “back up” my phone.

Thank you

Hey @Poppop, thanks for the additional info.

You can definitely use our camera uploads feature, to automatically upload all the photos and videos on your phone.

However, there's no way to automatically store apps, texts, etc. to Dropbox from your phone.

If you can find a way to save local copies of those to your phone or to a computer, you can then manually upload them to Dropbox.

Thank you Hannah!
So, once photos and videos and select text messages are uploaded and stored in Dropbox, I can DELETE THEM from my iPhone?
Thank you

Hi @Poppop, once you're certain you can access those files from the Dropbox site, then it means they've been uploaded in full, and you can delete the original files from your phone.
