Dropbox is full but cannot see any files

Hello, my dropbox is full but unfortunately I cannot see any files (not in the app, not on dropboxwebsite or on my computer) so there is nothing to delete to free up some space. When I connected my external disc to my computer, it started to back up all files from disc to my dropbox by mistake. My dropbox was full immediatelly and since than I keep getting messages to upgrade or free up space. I would love to free up space but there are no files, nothing to delete. Can you please help? Thank you

Hi there, @venca19, welcome to our Community.

It sounds like this could be because of the external drive backup.

Is this backup no longer saved to your Dropbox? Or do you see it in this page?

Let me know what you find.

Dear Hannah,

thank you so much. I was able to delete it and free up some space over the link you sent me. Thank you for your help. Have a nice day 🙂

I havre been getting messages that my dropbox account is full and needs to be reduced, or I need to buy more storage space.

But I want to look at what is in my dropbox account, and decide if there are things I can get rid of before I buy more space.

Unfortunately, when i look at my dropbox account, I see large color blocks indicating differen things in storage, but they are not labeled nor are the contents inside visible.  I'm certain I could reduce the amount stored inside those large colored blocks, but i can't figure out how to "get inside" the walled off storage containers to see what is being stored.

How do I see the actual items in the storage "pods?"

Hey @BrucePCranston, thanks for the nudge here.

I'm not really sure what you're referring to as color blocks; is it possible to send us a screenshot?

But in any case, you should be able to access any Dropbox files you might have in your All files page here.

If you want, you can use these steps, to see the size of your files and calculate the size of your folders as well, if that helps.
