Selective Sync
I would like to use selective sync. However I can not find the sync options in my preference roll down menu. How can I proceed? Tx for your reply, Nicky

You need to find Dropbox on your status bar (i.e. the bit near the clock of your computer), then click on the icon top right:
In that menu click on Preferences and then 'Sync'

It sounds like you're looking at your account's settings online and not the desktop app's preferences NickyR
Is the desktop app running on your computer at the moment? If so, you should be able to see a Dropbox icon in your menu bar/system tray.

It says that the app is installed so I am assuming that thats what I am working in. When I push the Dropbox icon on my task bar, it directs me directly to the files on my pc.....
Online this is what I see

Are you simply clicking or double-clicking the Dropbox icon on your task bar? Also, is this the Dropbox folder you're clicking on or the app's icon in your system tray NickyR ?
You should be able to bring up the app's preferences by simply clicking on the Dropbox icon in your system tray, that's why I'm asking.

I am having the same problem! I urgently need to un-sync some very large files and cannot find the "preferences" to click on. I do have an icon in my tray and it seems to open Dropbox in my browser, but when I open it from my desktop instead I still don't have the button I need to click. Please help!

Also--when I click on my avatar at the upper right of the screen, one of the options there is "Install Dropbox App." Does this mean the app is not actually installed already? I am working on a brand-new Win 11 laptop that was set up only a few days ago by a tech professional who downloaded Dropbox for me, so this doesn't seem possible, but it looks like it is an option for me and I don't know why. Any help appreciated--I have hit a wall here! Thank you.

I have the same issues, I'm going to look on YouTube to see if I am missing the obvious! This is so frustrating as this should be so easy.

Hi all
You are using the website to do this which is incorrect. The options that you have shown above are from the website.
You need to do this on your COMPUTER on the DROPBOX SOFTWARE.
